Okay. Well, will you attack the officer? >> Nope. Nope. Nope. Back. Very back. Yeah. Very back. >> Hello, Sarah. How are you today? >> I'm doing well. >> Huh? >> I'm doing well. >> You're doing well? That's good to hear. I'm Deputy Blake with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. Uh, this deputy here just had a couple concerns um with your driving patterns and whatnot. We just want to make sure that everything's okay. Are you having any kind of medical episode or anything like that? >> There's been a lot going on lately, you know, but um No, not like today. So, >> not today. Okay. All right. Well, I I don't want to cry or anything. I mean, it's >> No, I definitely understand how this works. So, >> you know how what works. Okay. Is there any reason I'm smelling the odor of alcohol on you? >> I drink last night. >> You drank last night? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I'm just trying to see. >> I can understand that. >> Oh, the kid in the back. >> There was two. >> There's another three. >> I didn't even see that there was two back there. I only saw the one. >> No, no, >> okay. Yeah, I'll be entirely blatant with you. Um, I smell alcohol coming from your breath. Your driving patterns are concerning and you got two kids in the car. I'd rather >> I'm sorry. I was like navigating like I was on my phone. So, >> yeah. Okay. Um, I mean, with that being said, I just want to make sure you're okay to drive with these kids. That's my main concern. These kids are going to be okay. >> Yeah, I'm okay. I'm taking them to the house. We live in Orange. >> Sure. Okay. All right. What I'm just going to ask of you um is to come out, do a couple exercises with me, and just make sure that you're okay to drive. And if you're good, then you can go about your day. But I just want to make sure these kids are going to get where they need to go safely. That's >> fine. >> Okay. Is that fair? >> Where are you trying to get to right now? >> We're orange. But I had to come out to Vanell. fun to the little girl who's there for the weekend. >> Okay, we can probably use that sidewalk over there just because we're on the side of US1. I don't want to get hit. >> Someone to come get them. >> I mean, I can get someone to come get them. >> Okay, just ask an I didn't say that yet. Like I said, it's more so just making sure that you're good to drive these kids. That's all more than anything. All right, >> we're just going to try to find a spot um >> where we're not going to get hit ideally. >> Oh gosh, just give me a minute. Okay, are you guys okay? You okay? Are you okay? Here's my couch. And these aren't these aren't your kids. Who's Are they your kids? >> That one's yours. >> Okay. Okay. >> Do you mind if I use your phone to call your friend to have her pick your kids up? Cuz I can tell already with you driving cuz at the very least, >> you're unsteady on your feet. I can smell the odor of alcohol. Your eyes are glossy. Bare minimum, I'm not at all. Go where >> you want to drive? No, absolutely not. No, no, that's fine. Can I just take Can I get picked up and just go, please? >> Have you had DUI before? >> Yes, ma'am. >> So, why shouldn't we go down this path then? >> I know. We're not officer. I just don't need these children in the system. I really don't. >> But you said you have a friend that would come get them, correct? At the very least. I also don't want these kids dead. You know what I mean? No, that I completely understand that. >> Well, your actions say otherwise. >> I would disagree. >> Well, I get that. >> Wouldn't you agree that it looks kind of kind of bad? >> How quick can you get a ride here? >> Um, 30 minutes. >> 30 minutes. I can't wait 30 minutes. >> Who's the friend in the Who's the friend in the mountain? 30 minutes. >> Who's the friend in the >> um just picked up? Well, no. They were stay. They live in Port Orange. They were there for a weekend deal in Manil. >> My mom condemned the children and she knows my friend that lives in this area. >> Yeah. Like Port Orange. >> No, in this area in Flaggler County. So why are you in Flaggler County? >> Because I picked up the children with my kids in Banell. You picked up the kids from Benel? >> Yes. >> Then why were you going northbound towards Banel? >> I don't know. I got lost. >> What's the name of the person that you're picking up from? >> Take your phone. >> Here. I'll give you my mom. No, we want someone that's five about 5 minutes away. Five maybe 10 minutes away. >> That would be my mom. >> You said 30 minutes away for your mom. >> Well, that's >> We're not waiting 30 minutes. >> And I That's not an option. >> We're not doing that. >> Who? >> No. >> What is the address of the person that you picked these children up from? >> What is the address? >> We'll try this. >> No, you're fine. not only she was >> what is the address of >> I'm trying to send him >> the these tears and thought process should have happened before you got in the driver's seat of a vehicle with two small children >> I I know there's no dispute that could be had. >> Well, I'm agreeing with you. >> I'm not fighting you. I'm not >> I understand. >> Can I use my phone? for what? >> To notify her parents. >> Notify her parents. >> Yeah, I think that's best. And >> if you wouldn't mind when you get them on the when you get them on the phone, I'd like to speak to them as well. >> She never answers. That's why she's >> If she does, I'd like to speak to her. >> Yes. Blake. Deputy Blake. >> Hello. >> Oh, did you hold them? >> Okay. >> They'll be fine. >> No, she got she got a hold of them. So, they're on the way. They know where we are. >> What's her first name? >> Jennifer. >> You said she's in Port Orange right now. >> She's actually on her way here right now. >> From Port Orange? >> Yes. She lives right on the front. My mom caught her and everything. >> How far out is mom? >> Um, they're on the way here. Like, >> can I see your phone for a second real quick? for what? >> I just want to see your flest. >> I can just trying to get an estimation of when your mom said 20 minutes. >> I just talk to her right now. >> FTA and it's 5:00. >> No, not when you talk. >> No, I don't want you. >> I suggest for your sake that you start cooperating. You're in no position to not >> I feel like I'm cooperating. >> I just want to see when she when we called her. That's all I want to see. >> And you're seeming to have difficulty pulling that up. >> Going to recent >> I know where I'm going with the >> Yeah, we got mom on the way. I'm just going to have to step out and we're going to do the field soiety exercises. >> Are there any? >> All right. I'm just going to pull my car over there so we can do it safely on the sidewalk. We're going to get these field sobriety exercises out of the way. Okay. We have mom coming for the children. All right, we're going to go back around the car and then we're going to go to this line here in front of this deputy's car. Nope. Over here. This over here. Over here. >> Yep. Over here where I'm standing. Over here. >> Oh, >> Yep. Okay. All right. What I'm just going to have you do is I'm going to have you stand with your toes touching, heels touching, hands down by your side, the same way I am right now. Do you have any questions so far? >> No. >> Okay. Do you wear glasses or contacts? >> No. >> Do you have diabetes? >> No. >> Do you take insulin? >> No. >> Okay. Do you have any physical limitations that prohibit you in your day-to-day activities? >> Not really. >> Okay. Do you have any TBI, concussions, anything of that nature? >> No, I just had a lot of surgery. >> Okay. You see the way I'm standing? Just maintain this until I tell you to do something else. Okay. If I can do it with 40 lbs of extra stuff on me, I know you can do it. All right. >> Great. >> You see how my toes are touching? >> I just want you to stand like that until I tell you to do something else. Understand? So far. >> Okay. You see the tip of my pen? >> Blue. >> What color is the tip of my pen? >> Blue. >> Okay. What I'm going to have you do is I'm going to have you follow this with your eyes and your eyes only. And I don't want you to move your head. Do you have any questions? >> Yeah, man. >> All right. Follow with your eyes and eyes only. Try to stand still. >> I'm going to explain everything to you and then I'm going to demonstrate everything to you as well. Okay? Any questions so far? You see this yellow line in front of you? >> Okay. I just don't want you to step over this bump. So, try to stand in front of this bump. Okay? That way you don't step on it, lose your footing or anything. Yeah, just stand on this side of the bump. >> Just like this. >> Nope. Just walk in front of the bump. So you don't not on the bump. I don't understand that. You see where I'm pointing? Just stand there. There you go. You can stand normal. You don't have to stand like that. >> I said just stand there. All right. I'm going to explain this part to you, okay? And I want you to for this part do it as I say it and then the rest of it I'll explain. What I want you to do is I want you to place your left foot on the line and then place your right foot against the toe of your left foot. >> So place your left foot on the line. >> Oh, okay. Sorry. I think we're still >> Okay. Left foot on the line and your right foot. >> I can't [ __ ] do it. >> Your left foot on the line and your right foot against the toe of your left foot. See? Just like this. Left foot would be on the line. I don't have a line. You do with your right foot against the toe of your left foot with your arms down by your side the same way I am. You see how my toe and heel are touching? This is how I'd like you to stand with your arms down by your side until I tell you to do something else. Okay. Any questions so far? Do not >> Can you stand the way I was I was standing? >> Left foot on the line, your right foot against the toe of your left foot with your hands down by your side. Maintain that position until I tell you to start. Okay, let's uh let's let's stop. Let's be entirely real with each other right now. >> You're gonna fall on the US one. You're gonna get hit. >> I don't want to get hurt on the US. >> I understand that. And I'm not comfortable with you doing them at this point. >> I can I can do it. >> I can't do it. >> I I can see that. And at this point, I feel like it'd be a risk of you falling on the asphalt. You were already about to fall backwards. >> I'm not I'm not going to take you in front of your tower. I'm not going to do that. But we're going to go. >> Yes. You are way worse than I am. Significant. But your mom's coming for your children and I'm going to make sure that they're taken care of. I don't want to help you in front. Listen, I don't want to help you in front of your child. We're going to come back here, okay? To the back of my car >> to the very back so they can't try again. >> I have a significant amount of fear that you are going to fall into the roadway. We have tried probably five minutes straight just to get you to stand in the same way. >> One more time. >> You won't try one more time. I'm be my best. >> Would you let me go? >> Let you go where? >> That I'm going. >> Yes. >> So, like I said, I just feel >> Can I smoke a cigarette and pull him off? >> I'm not going anywhere. >> And yeah, it's fine. Okay. All right. >> Yeah, that's fine. I mean, >> no. No. She's grabbing your stuff. >> I'm just going to stand here. >> Just lean up against the car. >> They're all your older black. >> Can I get a cigarette? That's >> I [ __ ] up. He needs you. >> Yeah, but you have to come to get the kids. >> I don't know what's happening. I'm only limited. Would you like me to explain it to her? >> Okay. Well, well, you want to talk to the officer? Crazy. >> And you want to go home? >> First one in Florida, one more delta. >> Yeah. Would you like me to speak a little bit? This is officer. >> Hello. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Sure. >> Um I you spoke with another deputy earlier. I'm going to be the primary deputy on this. Um, you your daughter was seen weaving in and out of lane. She has two small children in the back. I have the odor of alcohol emanating from her breath. I started doing the field sobriety exercises just to gauge how impaired she may or may not be and it was significantly worse than I even thought. Um, with her having two small children in the back, I'm not at all comfortable with this kind of a thing, not having any form of repercussion. Now, with that being said, as long as um the charge is just DUI, as long as you know she gets to the jail, doesn't fight, she gets to the jail and and gives a breath sample, it will just be the DUI charge, which will have a $1,000 bond if you go through a bail bondsman. I can't recommend any in particular, but it'll be, I believe, 10% of that. So, it'll be about 100 bucks. Um, but it will be for anything alcohol related, um, an 8 hour hold. So, it'll be at least eight hours, but later in the afternoon, you will be able to get around. We're just going to come to the back of my car so they can't see you. Okay. Nope. Nope. Nope. Back. Very back. Yeah. Very back. >> The children can see you. So, walk right over here. Okay. >> Put your hands behind your back. No. Why would I put you in the trunk? >> No, because I didn't want the kids to see you. >> Oh. Oh, yeah. >> Are you okay with someone driving your car back? >> Yeah, that's fine. I'm coming in. Who's here? >> Yeah. >> Who is here? >> No one. No one yet. We don't. >> Yeah, they're fine. Are they okay? Yes, your kids are fine. And we got uh looks like one of the parents over here now. What >> car is that? >> What was that? >> Yeah. Is it on the back of my car? >> Okay. >> Yeah, that's uh that's the other girl's parents. >> Okay. >> My car needs to be told. That's fine. Yes. Google
