Details regarding the 33-year-old driver who drove off on police, who was charged with resisting, well, this is still an open case. The 38-year-old man was given five charges. Unlawful use of a weapon, criminal damage to property, discharging a firearm on property, criminal trespass, damage to property, and reckless conduct. Out of those five charges, the last one was dropped, reckless conduct, but the first, second, third, and fourth charge, unlawful use of a weapon, criminal damage to property, discharge of firearm, and criminal trespass, he was adjudicated guilty on these four charges. And the most serious being unlawful use of a weapon. And for this charge, this is the most serious non-murder felony in Illinois, and it's classified as a class X felony. Going deeper into this charge, he initially had a Glock 26 with an extended magazine, adding a switch or an auto conversion device, converts the handgun into a fully automatic weapon. This is considered extremely dangerous, and courts [music] treat this as a major aggravating factor. So, him essentially turning the Glock 26 into a machine gun that was also loaded with 21 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber plus having additional ammo in the car. And after looking at the security footage, him not being painted as simply a victim, but actively being aggressive and going back and forth with his girl, and all of this being in a violent context involving guns, led to him pleading guilty and avoiding possibly a 20 to 30 year sentence with multiple charges being stacked. And as a result, he was sentenced [music] to 10 years inside prison. He'll be eligible for parole in 5 years. And if he does get out in 5 years, he'll also have 18 months of supervision probation. Let me know your honest thoughts down below on these two cases. Stay safe out there and I'll see you in the next video. This is the second Come here with This is the second time around. I don't understand what you're talking about. Your Miranda rights. I don't understand it. What is Miranda? Like your rights before I question you about a crime, [music] I have to give you your Miranda rights. >> understand what that is. Okay.
