We'll get back to his charges in just a moment, but first officers are called when this intoxicated man is screaming at a job site. >> Hey, what's up, man? How's it going? >> That's fine. Who's building a fence? >> Yeah? You get a little upset building a fence? >> Well, because I thought that he was >> Can you turn around and talk to me, please? >> taking advantage of >> Who was taking advantage of who? >> he was getting taken advantage of on the fence when he knew more than what the other people knew. >> Are you his coworker? >> No, I didn't >> Do you know this guy? >> I mean, I was just in jail with him, but like I don't know what his problem is. >> Jail with him? Are you here together? >> I mean, I was just giving him a ride, you know? >> You gave him a ride here, okay. >> he started acting up, and then I was I told him like, "Hey, you're going to get the cops called on you, you know what I mean?" >> Where do you live? >> I was just going to stay here and help him build the fence. >> Help them? >> No, man. Guy's drunk. >> building the fence. >> You're going to live here with him? >> I was just going to help him build the fence. >> Do you have your ID on you? >> Yeah. >> You don't have any weapons on you, do you? >> No. >> Okay. How much have you had to drink today? >> Uh, I don't know. >> What have you had to drink today? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? >> I don't know what you're drinking. >> Honestly, no. >> Why were you getting all upset? >> Because I felt like those people were taking advantage of him. >> People here? >> And making him do >> Where is his house, isn't it? >> Obviously, where are they? >> That's what I'm asking you because you were here and I wasn't, so I don't know where they would have ran off to. >> and I said, "Where are they?" I said, "They're bossing you around trying to tell you what to do. They felt offended by his >> Keep your hands out of your pockets. >> Evidently he felt offended by his >> Negative on that. >> Oh, it's your whatever. I don't know. >> All right. Hang out here a second. >> bro. >> Hey, do you have a phone on you, man? Is there anyone in that phone who you can call to come get you? Okay. What was her name? >> Gloria. >> You have a no contact order with her, I think. No, no. >> Same. No. >> So, here's the deal, dude. You can't stay here cuz he don't want you here and you can't just be wandering around cuz you're too drunk. So, where can you go and who can take you? >> Can I like go down the road and just chill there? >> Can someone pick you up? >> [laughter] >> There's no way they're going to allow that cuz they know they're just going to get called right back to this area for some other problem that he'll end up causing. >> Can you like call someone in your phone? >> that might pick me up. >> That'd be perfect. Why don't you call him up? >> Who is he? I can give him a ride, but not over here. I just stopped to give to those officers food to my kids. >> Okay. >> You know, then he got out of the car, he started acting up. Now I'm telling like, "Hey, stop. I don't need that around my kids." >> Hey, police are here trying to say that I have nowhere to go. Um >> Can Do you mind if I talk to him? >> The police want to stop talk to you right now. This is Zach. >> Pretty cooperative so far. >> Yes. Police want to talk to >> Hey, this is Officer Savin of the Mon PD. How are you doing? Hey, I'm here with your buddy Zach or I Are you a sponsor? >> No. >> No, okay. He So, >> He He's ended up here on the east side and he is drunk and needs a place to go and uh he said that you might be able to help >> He is not. >> Okay. Sounds good. I just figured we ask, thank you. Okay, all right, bye. You don't want to give you a ride either. >> No? >> Do you have anyone else? >> He doesn't. >> Or any family? >> That's awesome. That's cool. Hey, I have a sponsor. >> He's not your sponsor. >> He is my sponsor. >> I just asked him and he said he wasn't. >> Then he lied. >> It doesn't It doesn't matter, man. Can you find someone else to call? >> Yeah, don't go down that road. >> he wasn't my sponsor? >> Find someone else to call. >> Because I caught a charge here and I don't remember what happened. And I just had a psych evaluation to see what happened and all that. And so when I talked to he was my sponsor and when he said he's not my sponsor, he's 100% lying. >> It doesn't really matter at the end of the day, man. It's not going to impact Well, not to not to us. I'm not saying it doesn't matter to you. >> What about him being your sponsor? >> Man, try to give the guy a little bit of support with the whole AA thing cuz at least he's trying or he's saying he's trying he's trying to have a sponsor, you know? I'd be a little gentler, I think. I'm not going to be telling the guy he doesn't have a sponsor or whatever. >> Like that doesn't change how we're going to do anything today. >> That's cool. >> Can you How much have you had to drink today? Hey, how much have you had to drink today? >> I don't know. I'd say a lot. What? >> A lot. >> You say a lot? >> Like you got a lot to drink. >> How much have you had? >> Getting offended. >> Yeah, in about another couple hours I'll have a lot to >> to. >> Oh, really? >> When I get off, yeah. >> How's that going to make you feel? >> Better. >> Really? >> Yeah. >> I'm just asking a simple question. >> So what do you think that's going to make you feel in like a few hours when I get out? >> Uh, the sergeant is trying to kind of relate to the guy and be like, "Hey, I I drink too. I'm going to drink later." >> How do you do, fellow alcoholics? >> What? >> I think it's going down the wrong road. >> How do you think that's going to make you feel? Feel what this is about. >> No, no, no. Seriously. All you >> guys, what do you think it's going to make you feel after I do years in prison and I get out? I'll lose my wife, and I'll lose my kids, and I'll lose everything. What do you think it's going to make me feel when I look at your >> We're trying to prevent that because right now you could go to jail for public intox. >> No, that's fine. I will lose that, right? What do you think that's going to prove? Right? When I'm a confirmed [ __ ] gang member and I've done [ __ ] years in prison and I see your names on my What do you think is going to happen when I [ __ ] get out? Right? >> Zack, can we help you out? >> I am going to do time. What do you think is going to happen when I get out? >> Oh. I will >> There you go. >> I will see you. >> Saw that coming. >> Put him ON THE GROUND. >> I WILL see you. >> Threats like that suck and they happen in police work a fair amount. I've been threatened a bunch of times. So far, nothing has ever come of them, thank god. What's worse is running into somebody off duty that you've arrested or dealt with before. That's happened to me twice. >> Break your mother [ __ ] Break your [ __ ] >> Minor confrontations. It gets worse when you get older and you have a family or if you're out with your family and you get recognized and the person, you know, wants to say something to you or whatever. It's part of the job that really, really sucks. >> We'll go to radio. >> We'll go over it. >> Right here. >> Wait a minute. What do you think is going to happen? >> I don't know. What do you think is going to happen when I see you? What do you think is going to happen when I see your name? >> We'll find out. >> We'll find out, won't we? That's funny, right? >> Most people make these threats when they're super drunk and don't even remember later. We're They're good Christian people. Nothing is going to happen. >> I had a feeling it was going to go this way. >> It might be 10 years or 15 or 20 years, but you know what? Eventually >> Ankle monitor. >> Eventually >> Whoop, he's got an ankle monitor. Hey Zach, we pick you up, you going to be cool with us? Now it makes sense why he was saying when he goes to jail for 10 years. He's on an ankle monitor. He's obviously violating probation, back to jail. >> Oh yeah, we're super cool. >> All right. Stand up. >> Hey. It's funny, right? It's so funny. >> [laughter] >> You guys are so funny. >> Maniacal laughter. >> Oh. All right. You're so funny. You know you're right. I want to hear something. >> Big Sarge is going to need that drink in a couple hours. >> Yeah. >> Sarge is old school rocking that hat. Interference? >> You think you're so cool, right? Yeah. You guys know you did. That sucks, right? >> That's a single cage car, which are great. They're much more comfy cuz then the driver seat can actually go back and tilt and you can just get more comfortable, but the only problem is when you have to try to get somebody in the car that doesn't want to go in. There's no way to go through the other side to pull them in. So, some goods and bads about those. >> We're going to find you and you're going to be dying. >> My goodness. All right, team. >> I guess not. >> It looks like they're taking off all their weapons to go into the jail. That's pretty normal. Usually you see them do it in the jail where there's like a gun locker and you can put your magazines in your pocket knife and your pepper spray and your taser. Any kind of weapon gets locked up. You can't go into the jail with it. Looks like these guys are just using the back of their squad. >> You know I'm going to kill every one of you cops, right? >> Sounds like harassment at first to me. >> You don't want me to kill you, man. You think it's funny? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, but before y'all go out the door, he is like pretty agitated and >> He's threatening >> his mouth right in the camera, so >> I'll I'll talk to him real quick. >> I'll roll the window down. >> Okay. Dude, we gave him like a million times to not go for public intox and then he like starts walking up on our sergeant and we're like, "Really?" Zack someone. He's got an ankle monitor on. He's on pre-trial for arson one. >> He was. >> Oh, boy. Now he's sitting in jail. He's not most happy fellow right now. He's not getting any friendlier. The man causing trouble in TJ Maxx was charged with two counts of obstructing an officer and one count of felony obstruction. I've not been able to locate his records at the time of publishing, but I've submitted a records request, so make sure you're subscribed and I'll post an update when I can. The drunk man was charged with interference with official acts and public intoxication. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any court records, but I have submitted a request for more information.
