You guys, if you know you have student loans and you're currently in default, you are so cooked. No student loan has been referred to collection since March of 2020. That comes to an end. On May 5th, the Department of Education will resume involuntary collections for borrowers with defaulted federal student loans. Y'all, they about to garnish our wages. They really know how to just ruin your day. The US government hates everybody here, y'all. As of May 5th, they're taking 15% of your wages towards student loans. Y'all, I've been ignoring student loans since I've been in school. If y'all know how much I owe in student loan, y'all would think I went to school to be a lawyer. And and it's a degree that wasn't even providing me a decent lifestyle. I was just living off vibes. So, you mean to tell me I went to school and y'all lied to me? Y'all wanted me to go out there and do triple the work to get a degree. Y'all, I owe so much money. I'm in Texas, so we don't have state tax. 15%. Oh, you might as well go ahead and add five more. Add 10 cuz you That's the state tax. I cannot believe this. I I just had to pull over, y'all. My head started throbbing. I'm about to get a headache. I got to go do deferment. I got to go do something. Y'all, we can't get away from this. People are even already saying that their credit score has dropped from a 700 something to a 500 something. Oh my gosh, my credit score 15% whether you have it or not as of May 5th. So long as you have money in your bank account, they are taking it. Matter of fact, financial aid just called me the other day and I hung up on them. Not in the mood. Don't have it. I'm living off life. I'm vibing. This man really said, "You know what? Let's make the rich richer. Let's make the others poor." Youers that keep saying, "Why should my tax dollars pay for other people's student loans?" One, go yourself. If your tax dollars did pay for student loans, it's because you're investing in society as a whole. A rising tide lifts all boats. The smarter that people are, the better off all of us are. But second, your tax dollars aren't paying for student loans. Our country makes billions of dollars from the interest of these student loans. Our country profits from student loans. So your your tax dollars aren't paying for people's student loan interest forgiveness. If anything, sorry, but the country is not making a profit off the backs of people that needed to take out student loans to better better themselves in life. I'm so sick of Republican viewpoint of I don't want my tax dollars to pay for blah blah blah. What do you want tax dollars to pay for? You live in a society that offers you services. The government is not a business. It's a service. You literally take advantage of things all day that tax dollars pay for all day. And if you didn't have these services that you pay taxes to pay for, then it would be private companies offering all of these services and you'd be paying a ton more money. So if I don't have any weight just to garnish, then what does that categorize me as a criminal and then I'm sent to the concentration camps? Y'all realize the solution to pretty much all of the problems that we're dealing with right now, including the student loan thing, is literally just non-compliance, right? Oh no, they're going to make me pay my student loan with what money? I mean, seriously, if everyone just says no, everyone says, "Fuck no, what do you think's going to happen?" But, you know, there's gonna be some little I have to do everything by the book person out there that's going to be like, "I have to or else." Y'all act like the majority of the decisions that you make in life are life and death when they're not. When actually, most of you probably haven't been confronted with real life or death scenarios in your life. The power of no. Use it. Cuz you know, the most powerful word against any narcissist or any unfair system is no. I mean, the hippie generation did it and they were the least confrontational generation that I can think of. They were just like, "No, let's go roll naked in a field and listen to music and do as many drugs as possible." And nobody stopped them. Works against men, works against jobs, and it works in this situation, too. So, instead of being a scared little worried about everything in the world, just start saying no in solidarity with everybody else. I promise you, it is not that hard. Because standing in solidarity with a very large group of people is actually going to say something. They're not going to arrest everybody. They're not going to drop a bomb on every single protest. So what? Your credit goes down. Where you going to buy a house anyway? Education department is warning that if we don't pay back our student loans that our wages are going to start being garnished. I thought y'all were supposed to be somewhere not existing. When they dismantled the education department, they also dismantled my $56,000 in student loans that I owe. Okay. I And the thing is, I shouldn't even owe those loans. I should not even owe those loans. For half my college career, I was literally a homeless student. And their solution was, "Here are more predatory loans so you can get a degree and go work in public service." Oh my god. Why do you want your Why do you want it to be free? You should have just went into a trade. It wasn't offered to me. It was not offered to me. I would have loved to have gone into a trade and been an electrician and not had student loan debt, but I did what I needed to do. I was 17 years old. You gave a 17-year-old $30,000 in student loans and now I'm supposed to pay it back. The education department was dismantled. So why are my student loans not dismantled? Talking about garnishing wages. 5 million people. Y'all out y'all mind. I'm not paying back my student loans. I I do not care. Oh, but what about your credit score? What am I going to do with a good credit score? Buy a house on starvation wages? Buy a car I can't afford to insure? I'm not paying them back. I don't give a [ __ ] about my credit score. Oh, they're going to garnish your wages. Most of us are undermployed. If they start taking additional money out of my paycheck, I just won't work. My life will not get worse. I'm not going to have the money anyway. So, you can't garnish what isn't there. I grew up in a faright conservative hardcore Republican family. And since like kindergarten, I have been conditioned to believe that if I did not go to college, I would not be successful. I was told that if I locked in, got great grades in high school, got into college, focused, and got my degree, that I would have a life similar to the life my parents had where my dad worked one job for like 35 years, was able to buy a house and go on vacation and support his family. That doesn't exist anymore. There's no jobs out there with pension plans. There's no jobs out there that let people my age just like buy a house. So, what was all that work for? Generations of Americans have been told that if they went to college and they did the right thing, took out these loans, that it would be worth it. And most of us are finding out it's not even remotely close to worth it. You're telling me these millionaires and billionaires were able to get these PPE loans forgiven that they took out during the pandemic for millions of dollars, but I have 30 grand in college debt left and I'm refusing to pay it back. And now I'm the problem. And I just want y'all to know that forcing Americans to begin repaying back their student loans while also offering very little to no assistance in paying back those loans and the form of incomebased, you know, all the other forms of assistance they had is going to be a [ __ ] show. Show [ __ ] This going to be a mess. Not only because they have g in the process of gutting the department of education. Not only because they have transferred this trillion dollar debt over to the SBA who has not had to deal with this prior to at all, but also because the American people quite literally cannot afford it. Eggs cost 8 to6 and 72 cents per egg right now. People are going to have to move, sell their cars, all other kind of abnormal [ __ ] or don't do it at all, and risk their wages being garnished, which will also lead to not being able to pay other bills. This going to be a hot mess. Do not let these people gaslight you about your student loans. Do not let these people make you think you are stupid for feeling like you've ended up in an exploitative, predatory situation based on decisions you were told to make as a 17-year-old, as a literal child. Should you have made better decisions? Probably. Should you have gone to a less expensive school? Probably. Should you have gone into a higher paying career for the amount of debt that you had to take on? Probably. You were a literal child. You are a literal child being told it's good debt. This is what you do. You get a degree from the best place you can get a degree from and you figure it out later. And now you're trying to figure it out. It's later. And the math is just not mathing for a lot of people. But you don't know it until it's too late because you sign these loans at 17 and 18 years old. You don't know what your salary is going to be. You don't know what your living expenses are going to be. You don't know anything. And for most people, the amount of debt that you have to take, unless you have rich parents, to do any career, teaching, social work, high paid careers, veterinary medicine, dentistry, it doesn't math. It literally just doesn't math. Every day I get on this app and I see 30, 40ome year old adults, fully frontal lobe developed people talking about, "I'm being scammed. My mortgage goes up hundreds of dollars every year." These people are signing loans every day for hundreds of thousands of dollars without understanding the implication of local property taxes. And we think 17 and 18year-olds understand how they're going to work this cost into their budget in 5 years and 10 years and 20 years. You think these people, these children understand the implications of daily compounding interest? Do not let these people gaslight you. And I would always love to know what these people think we should have done. Should only rich people, only rich kids get to go to college? If your parents don't have a h 100red grand when you turn 18, should you just have to be a hair stylist or a plumber or an electrician? Is that is that the world you want to live in? Or would you like someone to be in the nursing home to wipe your ass when you need them? I'm sorry, but I don't think paying back your debts is morally superior. I literally don't care that you grinded for over a decade and stretch yourself so thin and worked two jobs and missed out on kids' birthdays and missed out on funerals and missed out on your life what is a dwindling time in your life of mobility and good health in order to pay back of all people the federal government. You will never catch me working that hard for the federal government ever ever. There are so many people in my comments. Wait, I'm confused. I thought we were paying our student loans back. It's a loan, not a gift. Duh. Duh. Yeah, I literally don't care. Congratulations. You did. I'm not. And many people can't. and also the people that have been paying them back and are in good standing and trying to be a good citizen, quote unquote, because that's how we're measured is how well we can pay back our debts when our own government is not even paying back our debts and our own president owes the state of New York so much money that he like literally can't even go there. And the fact that he owes other states so much money that he literally couldn't hold rallies and that's why he had to use really obscure weird third party vendors in order to hold rallies in states. He's gone bankrupt six times. So yet your neighbor who's got three children and weighed down by student loans who has to file for bankruptcy in order to continue to pay her student loans is the one that's morally inferior. Same government that sends $ 8.8 billion at the drop of a hat across seas to support an extinction of an entire people. Same government who manipulates and uses our stock market to their own advantage and insider trades every oh every day. Every day. Congratulations. Congratulations. Like you literally are living and dying to pay back the federal government and it's never going to be me. The bootlicking is insane. It's a really really weird hill to die on when you can't even afford eggs. That goes for all debts. That goes for houses. That goes for cars. We're weighed down by cars and car loans with high interest rates because we don't have public transport that's affordable andor accessible. Weighed down by mortgages. Let's not even talk about that. None of us are ever in own homes ever again. Allowing predatorial practices like LLC's buying out houses. Doing absolutely nothing about it. if anything perpetuating the behavior. The federal government does not care about you. They are making billions of dollars off of your back. These debts are not ours. Paying back our student loans will not fix our debt deficit. Just run the numbers. The fact that they are bleeding out money in places like the DoD. It is not on me to bail out the government. It is not on the American people. They have just propagandized it that way. Until we see that, until we see our government as inherently evil and that they are all working towards the same goal, we will never have class solidarity and we will never ever get ourselves out of this situation. We need some Eric May energy up in this. I've been playing a catch me if you can game with them student loans for a very long time. So, I'm still going to continue to play that same game after May 5th. I don't know who these people think they are trying to take money back for a degree. Like I'd understand if I owed something for something serious, a degree. You want me to pay you for me being an educated upstanding individual in the society? I need to now pay you because I'm intelligent and a great civilian, please. There you have it, folks. So, the first time in 5 years, the Trump's administration will begin collection today of student loans that are in default. The Trump's administration is willing to go as far as taking monies directly out of potentially millions of borrowers paychecks to recover the unpaid loans. Currently, 5.3 million borrowers are in default of these loans, accounting for a staggering $1.53 trillion. Wow. According to the Trump's administration, fewer than four out of 10 borrowers are in repayment and it's an unsustainable system. Under Biden's administration, the Department of Education tried multiple times to give broad forgiveness on student loans only to be repeatedly stopped by the courts. Caroline Liv said in a statement that these loans cannot be wiped away but only transfer to others. Why should Americans who didn't go to college or went to college and responsibly paid back their loans pay for the student loans of other Americans? Carolyn Le also said that those in default as of today, May 5th, will face involuntary collections or garnishment by withholding money from borrowers tax funds, federal pensions, and even the wages. So the question is, do you think this is fair or harsh?
