On January 15th, 2026, deputies responded to an airport after an employee at a restaurant reported that a man suddenly left without paying after both his card and his mother's card were declined. >> Uh individual uh walked out on the tab at the bar. Uh one beer 1488 and not his room so I guess he walked out of >> Did he say anything? Did he just walk out or did he just >> Uh he talked to him about paying his tab. He called his mom, got a card number over the phone. Still declined. Then he got frustrated and he just left. So he >> I didn't follow him. I >> What room is he in? What room is he in? What room is he in? >> Black male. >> If we find him, do you want to arrest him for theft? If you can, then >> Uh yes, most likely. >> Okay. Do you want me to get a description? I'll get a description. >> He's on cameras right now. >> Yeah, [clears throat] what what did he look like? >> Uh black male. I'd say mid to late 20s. Uh And uh yeah, it's about yeah. >> Yeah, do you know where he might be? >> Sir. >> He might be in another room. No, this is my room. >> Okay. Did you talk to the guy? >> Uh >> Did you talk to the guy at all? >> being really rude. Like uh he saw me on the phone with you guys and he was like get out of the lobby, you don't need to call them. And I was like, all right, and then he dipped out that way. Oh, you saw him go that >> He went that way, yeah. >> She saw him go that way. >> to send a Can I just check the drink? I have a photo. Just try to see if that's the person that's out there. >> Did he pay? >> Yeah. >> He ran. >> Yeah, I'll send the photo in the thread. >> So he he took off out >> He took off out >> Okay. >> He apparently called his mom for a credit card number but it didn't work and then he got >> Uh he >> A beer, 1488. >> We found the tab, yeah. >> Okay. >> I'm going to go look for him if you want to continue >> the table here? >> What was on the Was this his? >> Yes, his. That's his. >> So you last saw him where? >> He went that way, yeah. >> That way somewhere? He went that way. Yeah, if I could get if you could just print out a receipt for his tab and >> Uh did you see the receipt, Rocco? >> Okay. >> Did you see the receipt? >> Yes, it's where you left it. >> And as a manager you do if we find him you do want him arrested for that. >> That's up to the bartender. >> He he told me yes. >> He's really? Well, I mean as long as he can pay his tab if not >> If he can't pay it then okay. So he tried to pay with his card it was declined and then he he called his mom and you tried to run her number. >> Yeah, and it didn't it didn't go through. It didn't go through and then I believe it's the same card he was trying to use as his mom has the same cuz he mentioned that it's not going through for me either with the same card. So maybe they share a card and we're refusing them. >> After reviewing surveillance footage officers tracked down the suspect as he made his way to his gate. >> Everything's audio visual recorded man. >> Do you understand your rights? The reason you're under arrest is because you didn't pay your bar tab. >> I'm I'm I'm telling him like telling him like I even called my mom cuz the card wasn't working. So I'm like why is that a like a problem like >> Because you didn't Because you didn't pay it. >> Yeah, but the card would work. >> Then you should have had somebody else try to rectify that bill for you. You should have called somebody to pay the bill. I did. >> Called my mom. No, it did I'm telling [snorts] you it's an Amex card. >> So it wasn't rectified in the restaurant. That's what we're saying. >> I'm okay. I'm not trying to steal from the Port of Seattle. Like I'm like I'm I'm literally I come here all the time. Like why would I do >> So walking out without having payment for the tab. >> Yes, I understand what you're saying. >> Get some get some ID on you man. >> No, man. No, I don't. I don't want to be No. >> Well, it's just like we're going to search you, so we're going to find >> I know matter what, but it's just like what the >> What's your ID on? >> I mean, I'm trying to I tried to pay, but the dude is in the back. You tried to pay? >> No, it was just better if I just left. >> If you consume If you consume an item that cost money, you didn't pay for it, and you left, you don't think that's theft? >> No, because I I was paying for it. I kept telling him that we were sitting there for like It's in the Amex bars. >> Why are you so antsy? Like I said, it's a theft. >> Hm? >> I said it's just a petty theft, right? Okay, so I'm not I'm not talking to you, man. Talking to him. >> Yeah, but you're you you seem really antsy. You're making me uncomfortable. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> You are though. Like why are you so If it's just >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Okay, I'm just letting you know it's just not that big of a deal. >> All right, we're going to go down with A13 there. >> Is it cuz I'm black? >> Let's go A13. [laughter] Uh just in your opinion >> So if if I had had this [ __ ] at King County, wouldn't have mattered, right? >> What is that? >> I said if I had this this thing at a King County, it's it's over traffic. I know what it's for. >> Yo, yo, we have nothing to do with the traffic side. >> I know it has nothing to do with you. You're the Port of Seattle. I'm saying it has nothing to do with you. >> Right, but it's still a it's still a warrant in the state of Washington, so that's why. >> Yeah, yeah, it's true. >> So either which either which way >> It doesn't matter, man. >> Had you rectified the bill, it would have been fine. >> I tried. >> But because the bill wasn't rectified, it led to that just that, it led to the warrant as well. >> No, it has nothing to do with the warrant, man. >> The The warrant we would have found who you were and why you had the warrant just like all my officers >> It's It's a traffic violation. >> Correct, but it's still a contempt of court warrant, King County. We're still part of King County. >> That's fine. I'm just like it's not a big deal. You're treating me like I'm a criminal. No, we're not I mean your man your man over here is got a hard on. >> He's not hard on. Everything's audio and video recording. >> I know that, but I'm just saying. I'm just like Okay, it's fine. I'm like it's not it's not a big deal. I'm just like okay. >> The thing is we don't know who you are, right? >> Yeah, you have my information. >> No, no. I don't know who you are in terms of what you can do. That's the reason why >> It's a traffic violation. Correct. At a red light. >> You have a theft and a traffic violation, okay? So, that's why when you're under arrest and my officers have you in custody there's nothing to prevent >> I'm not I'm not I'm not disrespecting him or anything. >> We don't We don't know what your personality is. We don't know who you are. We don't know what your behavior patterns are. We don't know how you react to being in police custody. We don't know any of that stuff. So, you can tell us whatever you want. We treat everybody the exact same way with unknowns. >> I doubt that. I'm just like I'm not fighting you or anything. I'm just like okay, like I understand like It's not a big deal. Like I get it. >> My man. My man. Like Like I said we don't know who you are. You don't even know who we are. Right? >> But I'm I'm I'm going to I'm going to resist arrest over a traffic violation? >> We don't know. >> My man. He and I have been doing this job combined 40 years. >> I've had people resist over a stealing a candy bar. >> You deal with the real criminals. >> We deal with all criminals. >> I literally was trying to pay the tab. Great. >> Well, we deal with everybody. We don't discriminate on that part. We deal with everybody, my man. >> I get it. >> It's not just one This is not one person. >> Hey, Sarge. Like I'm I'm telling you like I tried, you know what I mean? >> [snorts] >> Like I'm not I'm not I wasn't being I was just like, "Hey man, like I was like, let me call my mom real quick cuz like the card ain't working on my phone cuz I'm tapping." And he's just like, "Uh still not working?" I'm like, "Dude, like but I guess where where I stepped out of line is because he was being an asshole." And I was just like, "Let me ask this dude." I got up and walked out. I'm like, "This dude is a [ __ ] asshole." >> And what do you think what do you think the outcome was going to be when he said that? He's going to call He's going to call the >> That's That's That's fine. Like there's nothing wrong with that. Like he's doing his job, but he's being a >> And that's And that's the part you know that I'm going to lose. He's doing his job. And unfortunately in circumstances like this >> That's That's I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not mad at you. I'm not mad at y'all. >> You think we wanted to come out here for this? >> I This Yeah, it's like it's like it's the It's fine. Like we'll go through the process and the procedures, but I'm just like, "Dude, what the Dude, I'm trying to tell him like I said I even had to call my mom. I'm like, "Hey, why isn't the card working?" Cuz it's on my phone. You know, we share an account. I'm sharing >> He's like The next time The next time something like this happens, just wait. Just say, "Hey, you know what? Call the police officer and let's see if we can try to work something out." >> Yeah. >> I'll tell you most I'll tell you nine out of 10 10 times my officers here will try to at least help you navigate through that. But once you walk out of that part, it makes it way harder for you to >> mean I I understand where that >> There you go. >> I get that. Like I'm not like mad about that. I'm just like I tried to pay the card. It's It's $14. Like I had the It was on the card. Like it was here or somewhere. I was like, "I might have like put on a like a no-fly list now or something? >> No. No. No. This has nothing to do with the airline. >> Okay. So, I'm just like >> Nothing to do with the airline. >> Yeah. I got I'll even go back to I would have to do it but this is like what the You got to understand I'm trying to get on the plane and you're like being [ __ ] difficult. I'm just like you just pulled me out. I know. Yeah. >> We're done. We're done talking. >> You search Do you search him again or anything? >> Yeah, you could Yeah, you could let go of my hand. My arm. >> I'm not going to run anywhere. I'm on the tarmac. >> Yeah, if you do run it'd be bad on the tarmac. >> Yeah, I know but I'm saying you don't have to >> I do I do have to. I do have to. >> I I'm not fighting you over this. >> I have to hold you. It's it's our policy. >> Okay. I'm just I'm just letting you know. It's not that big of a deal. It's $14. Do you want to do anything with the tarmac stuff? >> No. No, he searched me already. >> You already searched him? >> No, you're good. Yeah, he's still taking me out. Hey, just out of curiosity >> I'm on board. >> You probably know better than you but uh I'll come out. Sit there all day or >> Oh, but you'll get you in and put you get you out. >> Yeah, I don't even know what you'd be arrested for on the site. >> I will Yeah, right. Right. You assuming it's a misdemeanor? >> Uh it's just simple just misunderstanding. >> Okay. >> You're okay. Not yet. >> No. Dressed. But no. No. No. >> Now, you'll uh >> I mean I'm just >> There's a bail amount. There'll be a bond amount for bond bond out so >> Who is? >> It will be that. >> How? It's trafficking. No, but that's not for that. What am I going to jail for? What am I going to go to jail for? >> It's theft and then he's also got a misdemeanor warrant out of King County for reckless driving 2500. >> Oh, okay. Uh, yeah. So, you got to deal with that. So. All right, man. We're good. >> He was charged with theft. Share your thoughts in the comments below and don't forget to like and subscribe.
