I didn't get out of my you shut the door for your own safety okay I'm get out the car I'm getting out yeah cuz this is the biggest loss that you're ever going to face I want your badge number and I want your name put down put your hands your hands behind your back I 9 years in the military get the out of here that's what you can do Mar this cop tried to harass a 9-year veteran and instead got humiliated on camera and lost his job on May 10th 201 20 two California police officers were dispatched to the welfare check of a woman named Jazelle about a 3-year-old child who had ingested nail polish remover but the officers didn't realize they were making a very big mistake hello hey I don't know who that is you know who that is no who's your uh your girlfriend or your baby mama right here first of all that's my wife mar mar and who who are you looking for want can you go with the mother's name what's the problem so we're here on a welfare check we have to make she's okay why because we received a call from North Bay for the incident that occurred earlier what incident look look right there supposed to be an investigator if yall investigate right there 9 years US Army now what's the problem okay what's your % I don't have to identify myself to you do I am I under investigation you want to tell me what's going on want window can you come out here no she can't come out there y'all need to tell me what's going on this is my house we told you C they're advising that this is not the right address ma'am ma'am yall violating my rights right now actually we're not dude yes you are because you're not telling me at this point it was clear that the officers were at the wrong address and had trespassed and question 9-year retired veteran CRA Hawkins who was just enjoying the evening with his family but instead of apologizing and moving on to the right address they would try to shame him and even become violent which Civil Right are we violating why youing your we're not violating anything okay why is he so we are we are here on a welfare check I can go inside my house we are here on a welfare check that was called in by North Bay over child I don't know what that means stop talking let me talk over a child that ingested ingested why he I don't like I don't like him a person that ingested or nail polish okay we come here your baby's right there we're trying to check on talk to you first of all came to my house and said is that my girlfriend or my baby mama that's my wife so that's disrespectful starting off all right sir so that was disrespectful starting off and then he's raising his voice at me okay so now I can raise my voice let's go no you can eat what's his problem okay okay N I need your' badge numbers I'm sorry it's fine I'll give you my badge number as if insulting his wife in marriage wasn't enough officer maror recklessly insulted Hawkins on his walk of shame to his patrol car but once the veteran pulled out his phone officer maror feared for his job and did this you told me to eat it right I messed up I now that you want film you messed up so so you you haven't violated any of my rights the first thing you said to me coming here was is that my baby mama or my girlfriend then he started raising his voice at me from North Bay pause I need your name and your badge number officer Kaa 107 thank you I need your name and your badge number one2 we receed he said he's not violating any of my rights he came to my house said is that my baby mama or my girlfriend make that's the first thing he said to me then he's raising his voice is okay we're here to check female is your child okay what's your name did you or did you not tell me child okay did your child he don't want to answer because that's what he said to me mar and and she was at my window I told you not to go to my window close the blind do you have a 14-year-old son close the blind sir sir close the blinds sir do you have a 14-year-old son close the blinds close the blinds I'm not going in the house close the blinds ma'am are your children okay okay do they look okay guy he's asking if my children are okay who the is that y talking about we're going to leave now give me why cuz I got to eat a that's why you leaving now we're going to leave now who 14 my family was all day we had a good day you're here telling me toat kid is I don't know who the 14-year-old is I don't I told you 9 years in the military okay you told me to eat so thank you for telling me to eat after you for 9 years you get my property I don't give you are probably a piece of if you sering and you telling people to eat a you probably was a piece of all right you can get the out of here that's what you can do marer you eat it officer maror was supposed to apologize but instead tried to justify his actions and somehow was still trying to check on the family even after knowing they were at the wrong address the couple were both army veterans but the officer's negligence left their entire family completely embarrassed and in distress understand but you don't come to somebody's house and disrespect them like that I completely understand I don't know what the hell yall talking about put yourself in my shoes two cops knock on your door boom boom boom I'm in there having a good time with my wife okay of 5 years who I have now scared you're explaining what you're explaining to me now but you didn't start off like that that's because okay I I I got you but this needs to be put in the notes we used to call it an a after I don't know if y'all do ARS you have our badol this incident was bad by itself but during this time the S Sun police and the black community were having frequent violent confrontations meaning one wrong move from Hawkins could have deadly consequences the officers left shortly after without an apology only to return 5 minutes later to make things worse sir can you hear me can you hear me sir can you hear me sir yeah go ahead all right man I just like to apologize for getting upset with you earlier I I you want to lose your job no I just don't want to can I can you open the door no okay all right I'm not I'm not going to get into my own personal things but I had some personal things going on that I let get the best of me and I do apologize for that I shouldn't raised my voice with you like that and get it best of me I really do apologize so you don't want to lose your job is why you're here but that's not what it is okay so you like your job I do love my job so when I was in the military I'm going to step out now we theong okay so you know you it's affirm this is not the right address yeah and I was just here chilling enjoying myself had a lot of family over they don't live here anymore yeah yeah right yeah they don't right it's right there I put it on there so I can identify myself maybe in situations like this I don't know I understand I just got out the Army I got with me to and I got my wife and my kids in there man like right was and all that's going on now with Mother black men getting shot like and you a cop and you you doing that to me I don't deserve that no you don't and can I Hon honorable service okay so you don't deserve that you're right you're a citizen I'm a cop I should I should I should not have let my personal issues get the best me yeah don't come to work that day that's what we used to do take some leaves I understand that and I let my got plenty of MP homies my personal like issues get the best of me today is not my best day and I so you knew that that's your partner so you knew that coming here you knew it wasn't his best day he had personal you known that I don't I don't share my personal life we all have going on hey I got too now I got cops banging on my door asking crazy here's the thing though is we're adding to this [ __ ] that I got okay no you're fine but no the the fact remains is yes I should not have done what I did and I do apologize for that and I hope you do accept that not just for me as a police officer but for me as a fellow service member and as a person you looked at me and you made some decision your head to say is that your girlfriend or your baby mama when you came out the door you blocked her and then you closed the door on her like you were trying to like hide her from I was cuz I'm a protector that's what I I get that yeah that's what led me to believe that this is the person that we're uh trying to talk too oh okay so I okay so you put that together in your in your head that that's was that EAS all right all right but yeah that wasn't a good open Family at the hospital was uncooperative with the medical investigations that's why we were called real I don't know about all that but I'm pretty sure I don't know if you would be cooperative if uh law enforcement came to your door and said it's actually a girlfri of your baby mom to your wife that was very disapp I should have said wife I apologize wasn't a race thing oh yes it was cuz you're not going to go somewhere and be like is that your girlfriend or your baby mama to anybody you made a determination in your head when you said that to me if I came out looking like some else I'm pretty sure you said is that your wife and your children well why yes it is is there a problem officers it didn't start off like that you started off on the wrong foot that's why it went left the officer's attitude towards the couple showed just how racist he was he was only apologizing because the veteran stood up for his rights and could easily get him to lose his job so Hawkins had a perfect response hope that you take it it is sincere okay okay all right man all right all right have a good night sh can't shake anything all right but accepting his apology likely wouldn't have made much difference as officer Marley was eventually fired from the police department with the police chief issuing an apology saying that the officer used language that was not appropriate or within the standards of the department he told me to eat a male private part and that's because I was not answering any of the questions because they were not listening to me when I was telling them that they were at the wrong address the family asked for more officer training and offered to work with the police to strength in the bond with the community however this disabled veteran wanted nothing to do with the police after they treated him so badly in his own house that they lost their qualified immunity and he sued them for $10 million what I put down phone turn around put your hands hands behind your back on August 27th 2019 California Veteran Affairs requested officers to perform a wellness check on a disabled veteran named slay Douglas whom they had seen as a patient hi duck dougas Douglas Mr slave yes how you doing all right we got a call from uh was it the veterans I don't know what they call for can we come in and talk to you for a minute yeah okay is there anyone else in the house no no I'm just going to make sure nobody else is no please no no no no hold on I ask you no all right just I'm to ask you to leave cuz this is my house okay number one and you just can't walk around let me ask you just couple questions the veterans people they they were concerned okay regarding a couple things one was which that you were threatening to commit suicide okay so what I'm here for is just to make sure you're not going to do something like that you understand so if you need our help that's what what I'm here for so we're not here to mess with you bother you or anything well you do understand if you just walk in my place just automatically start walking around and I know y'all wear body cams as well I'm ex La enforcement too if you just come in my place like that and you just start walking around you have to have my permission to do that so I don't appreciate that you can't violate my rights because you got to call to help okay so you're not you're not helping me if you just come in you automatically start following sir it was more for like officer safy no it's not officer safety because I I didn't even have to let you me right so no don't say right cuz it's about my safety cuz you're in my domain and if you're here to help me you can't say well my sfe is cuz I have no weapons the officers asked to be in the home and were free to leave at any time so walking into his room when asked not to was a clear violation of his rights they cornered him in and appeared eager to do much more than ensure his safety and what happened next showed their true objectives please leave I'm asking you so to leave you don't feel I know I'm asking I'm asking you to leave you don't please leave I'm asking you to leave my residence well if you answer this question I'm I'm asking you to leave my rest I'm about to put you in handcuffs sir if you do that that's your choice okay turn around put your hands why would you put me in handcuffs turn around put your hands right your back what have I done you're going to listen to what I said you're going to put down the phone you're calling 911 and I'm standing right here but what have I put down the phone turn around and put your hands behind your back put your hands behind your back cuz you know what you're calling 911 we're standing right in front of you I'm asking you to leave my residence I'm not leaving your place now turn around put your said you came here to help I'm not doing that now put your hands behind your back you're calling 911 right in front of us because I asked you to leave my res we can't leave you know this be determined you know this you know exactly what I'm talking about if you were law enfor you would understand okay and this is why African-Americans have issues with law don't start that don't start that that's a bunch of I asked you to leave and you use profanity at someone that's okay I could use that oh really for someone who you concerned about doing something to themselves hey you know what when you're not listening to commands what did you do that wasn't a command a command for me to ask you to leave my residency you got you command us to do I can ask you to leave if you're not why are you here you are here to help me and I you are here because somebody wanted us to sh and I and I told you I was fine and then you started exacerbating my condition why are you putting your hand up like for me not to speak you can't help a person if you don't want to listen to what they are saying Douglas was now placed under arrest for fearing for his life after two men in uniform violated his rights and barricaded him in his home while refusing to leave by now it was clear that the officers didn't care about his well-being but they would go out of their way to humiliate a disabled veteran with a spine injury well you're in Cuts now because of the way you're acting here why you grabing me I'm not doing but I ask you not to right there explain to them sir would you please on my rug please that's a very expensive R who who says I want to step on your Ro okay you aware that I'm a disabled veteran sure I have Ric offic you see there's plenty of room there no it's not about the room it's a positioning on my arms well how do you want your arms I I need this cff to be removed so from the front you know what the cups wouldn't be on you if you weren't acting the way you are acting by exercising my constitutional a I just checked your cups okay it's not the cups it's the positioning on my arms I requested that's how the LAPD do you can also you so that's the purpose of asking for a reasonable accommodation and that was the reason reasonable accommodation is to reposition my arm because it's exacer reposition it how I need it in the front because it's exacer that's not how we do that's not how we do our hand well the thing about asking for a reasonable accommodation is a policy exception no we don't have a policy exception everyone comp I need medical you take any medication I'm not answering that question I need medical attention okay so you would like me to call you an ambulance I need medical attention you would like me call ambulance that you guys use I need medical ATT okay can you tell me the I said it many times iess the reason of accomodation was 15 you got to say what you need I no I requested a reasonable accommodation you didn't Grant and as a result of that it exasperated I do not put your hands up in front that's not going to Happ excuse me your hands are not going to be placed in front of you okay that's not how we do things well well the whole purpose of a reason accommodation to make you're not even a superior officer you don't attention my exacerbation disability server could ridicul out the C5 and C6 due to the handcuffs and the abusive touching that you did as well on the elev okay that's fine sir yeah I I you think I'm and I'm why okay you can laugh the disabled veteran had his hands behind him for well over 40 minutes since the officers refused to cuff him in front even after showing no signs of resisting arrest or escaping they also delayed calling the Medics who upon arrival did something that showed just how inhumane the officers were this as far as thing's going to be put him on our gurnie handcuff with the rails take him to hospital tell tell the doctor that he's complaining that he's got previous back injuries and he fell in cover position he clear that way takes all the liability out you guys f it off the city I think be I I think be most that'll be the best thing to do sounds good to me okay we got what information does he have Douglas was eventually cuffed by the side and taken to the hospital but his humiliation wasn't over just yet as the officers told the nurse that they needed to find something in his system so they injected Douglas without his consent and threatened him the administration of additional drugs with the intent of exacting information for over 8 hours after the humiliation Douglas filed a $10 million lawsuit against LAPD officers and the city of Los Angeles and the judge presiding over his case rejected an appeal from LAPD lawyers to dismiss the case ruling that both officers were not entitled to qualified immunity for unconstitutional detention excessive force retaliation violation of due process violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act violation of the Bane act battery false arrest and imprison imprisonment the case is still pending settlement with Douglas represented by nationally renowned and prominent civil rights lawyers he was basically helpless during the entire humiliation however this female Army veteran stood up for herself and was willing to fight any officer who tried to oppress her I didn't get out of my you shut the door for your own safety fine do whatever you want on December 18th 2021 a Florida Deputy named Carlos pulled over a vehicle for invalid license the driver Miss June pulled over immediately but her sister a veteran named Miss Shelly pulled over 50 ft away since Miss June didn't know the way to her home however the officer immediately had an issue with this go they can go that window doesn't have roll they need to leave huh they my sister they're going to leave for what what am I being pulled over for 161 C what's the issue sir I'm explain it to you in a minute ma' want to R me another unit normal response I'm stopping you to see you at they didn't they not the stop they are not part they are not part of my traffic stop okay let me finish following her that's okay she can pull up down the road and wait she's not going to stay here and wait she's going to leave it's not it's not open for conversation debate I'm dealing with one person ma'am I'm dealing with one person I'm not dealing with more than one she's not dealing with you she's making she's staying right there is okay your safety she is fine anything illegal right I I promise you she is what is what is she doing she's being told to leave CU traic stop right now this is something I'm doing she's to leave the deputy never identified himself or the reason for the stop but was quick to disregard Miss jun's demand for safety and that her sister was her only way back home he didn't explain himself or even confront Miss Shell personally but instead called for backup prompting the arrival of Deputy Crawford I want them to go being very un hello can you just go please well that's my sister and my nie so I'm just going to stay here I need I need you to leave if you you can wait up there I think it's a public road okay I'm I'm I'm not abstracting traffic I'm asking so you're obstructing this traffic stop so can you just please obr just there's a parking there's a parking lot up there please just go up there I'm going to make sure that my sister she'll be fine she'll be fine and I will observe that okay so now I am telling you I'm not asking you you need to go what law am I breaking I'm telling you you need to go because it's not safe for you to be here why not because all right are we going to play all right can I have your ID can I have your ID am I being detained you are now when am I being detained because now I need to identify you if the officers were so scared around two women and a little girl they could have stayed with either woman and observed them till the stop was over however these officers wanted their way at all costs even if it meant escalating a very simple issue to get it I'm going to come over we're going to get out of your car sir you can call your sergeant you can get out of the car call your sergeant I would like a supervisor please you can get out of the car right now or I can help you out of the car or you can just give me your put your if that's assault because I've not brok it's you're impeding this traffic stop I ask how am I impeding it has nothing to do with you I asked you to leave you ref the only reason why I pulled over is because my sister does not know my new residence and I told you you could go and I told you you could go wait up there in that parking lot okay you both have cell phones what is the problem because now you won't ident first you won't do a simple thing I ask you to do I'm telling you I'm her sister and I know that that's what she has told him by now okay that has nothing to do with what's going on back there okay and I'm not interfering with you doing what you men have to do no you are by by stopping here he does not want you here cuz now he because he has no idea what you're going to do you don't think we dealt with situations where the person in this car all sudden I don't know that I don't give a I don't give a and now now I'm getting mad because we have no idea your intentions okay I will I will pull up but I will be calling the police department I would like your badge number I'll give you my card please I've been so nice I gave you multiple opportunities you're cussing at me and you're because I'm done with you rude yeah so you want to cuss at me I cuss at you you all day long all day long that I have not been rude to you I was sitting here my and I have not until you started refusing so I still need your ID I was I need your ID your ID for that's it I need your ID because you chose because you're interfering with this we don't want you here as not I will comply with your ID request but you're being you are not going about this correctly it's all it's all in fil good hi I'm glad and it we'll see how it esal because of your noncom it did not escalate because my non-compliance I asked you questions you refused to answer and to answer them you did not tell me what I was going to be detained for you did not tell me why I need identify myself faing for failing to do what we asked you to do so now you chose to be here now I need to make sure that we are safe should I was doing absolutely nothing wrong and I'm allowed to be on a public road you're not allowed to I'm not impeding because you stop when I I didn't get out of my you shut the door for your own safety all right fine do whatever you want I'm done with her the officer gave no warning before trying to slam the door against the woman's leg and face and his claim that she was riling him up proved that the action wasn't for her safety but the complete opposite a simple explanation at the start would have prevented all this and the supervisor on the scene knew it hello ma'am I'm Sergeant Nicks hi Sergeant so I watched the interaction um so from the start uh you aren't allowed to be stopped here if you are interfering with any kind of Investigation you can be detained at that point to and identified as a person you cannot just stop on the side road for somebody else to stop even if you know her sister brother son you can't do that the sergeant explained the process of filing a complaint against the deputies and gave her his business card sending the family on their way but Towing Miss June's vehicle the sisters didn't take the interaction too well especially Miss Shell who still had combat injuries you can get out of the car right now or I can help you out of the car I literally thought he was going to rip me out of my car and if he would have done that that I run the risk of never walking again and my foot had been propped up in my door and that was why my immediate reaction was to put my arm out taking ja she's just got put in jail the backat the anxiety that he has caused me this last month is very intense and the anxiety that he's caused my daughter is very intense um she hasn't slept in her own bed in a month the officer's actions explained why Miss Jun needed her sister for safety in the first place and now her daughter had to suffer that as well the Santa Rosa County Sheriff eventually apologized to the sisters saying that his depuy's actions were totally inexcusable and they would be punished and given additional training of 160 hours on how to handle a traffic stop and professionalism when dealing with citizens if you're enjoying this video video please like And subscribe there was surprisingly no arrest in this case however the next officer not only traumatized this retired army veteran and his wife but also killed a man in May of 2019 Arkansas State Trooper Ryan Wingo was driving down a road when he suddenly turned 360 to go behind two cars previously behind him but just then he got close to a red car trying to give way and suddenly hit the car's rear pull to the parking lot pull it to the parking lot 6 notot Springs go send uh one the normal units over here to the U shoot Factory had a car slam right in front of me from the crash it was clear that the vehicle had already pulled to the side before the officer spit into them unable to stop his car in time but after lying to dispatch he would ride this story till the very end even if it meant forcing the vehicle's occupants to do the same and um license registration Insurance sir why you me over cuz you following me too closely nearly rared me no I did not you slammed on your brakes you had no break you had no turn signal or nothing I had to turn around on the car without speeding I'm doing my job out here sir give me your last you hit me don't worry don't worry my number 6 on Spring I had a car follow me too closely nearly rared me turned around got behind it and it slammed on The Brak in front of me I was unable to stop I have a 1038 between my and his no damage get your sergeant out here too take it out look at my car hey take a SE in the car for right now we're on traffic stuff right now you hit my car we on traff out here I want to see the Damage Done to my give me a minute we're on a traffic stop right now once I get done with my traffic stop for falling too closely I was not falling Too Close clearly you were you hit me you stopped in middle of a roadway Sirah I didn't stop I got over and I was I was in the lane trying to speed back up no I was trying to speed back up slammed on your gas and you hit us okay so okay well I'm St I told you why I stopped you cuz you're follow me too closely but I wasn't but okay we'll see in court okay do you have an idea on you ma'am I sure do you don't need your ID yes I do actually for the accident report that you so that you still want sir yes I do want it okay youing hit the officer claimed to have pulled him over for tailgating even though his traffic lights were off and his rare camera captured a safe distance behind both vehicles before the 360 the driver wanted to pursue legal action and officer Ryan knew he was in a pretty bad spot so he would use uses authority to get what he wanted there's no damage between our vehicles though I don't give a bro you get out get out okay get out the car okay I'm get out the car I'm getting out there's no need for that why are you doing that you're underr for dord of the cond sir cool hey call you dad there's no need for that there's no need for cing there's no need to C stand up stand up I'm trying okay come on this is ridiculous this is ridiculous why are you doing this why are you doing this ma'am there was no need for cussing me out until he can calm down and act like an adult sitting back let me explain to you my husband has severe PTSD severe severe he's 100% disabled veteran and he's that's why I'm here you you going to talk to me you going to let me talk or you want to interrupt me entire time ma' I'm sorry okay until he can calm down and act like a human being and stop cussing me out for no reason so I'm trying to explain to him what happen but he doesn't want to let me talk okay so do you want to let me talk or not yes I'm sorry okay now the DV on on the car's plate and this officer just dragged a disabled veteran named Charles Donner out of his car for exercising his first amendment rights he tried to use his perceived authority to gain control of the situation and while he managed to silence his wailing wife Charles wouldn't give up just yet you going to calm down you're going to continue C just want your badge number and your name you going to I'm asking you a simple question so are you going to call down I just want your badge number and your name it's all I want okay well I'm trying to ask and I said sure officer okay well you going to Fe to cuss me out or not cuz that was that and you're going to say sure then I'm not going to have you sit out here and reason there's no fit to you're not incriminating yourself sir I'm just trying to ask already said sure I just want your badge number I just want your badge number and your name okay it's all I want okay cuz this is going to end horribly I just want him I'm trying to get him to calm down but he doesn't want to he wants continue to yell at me for no reason okay but there still the officer's refusal to give his name or number and deception towards the already scared woman showed that he wanted to frighten the couple into letting go of the case he claimed to have pulled them over for tailgating but would tell his supervisor a very different story when I turned around he starts laying on his horn I was like okay so you want to lay on your horn I'll just pull you over for so when I turn around turn back around to come behind him he moves straight over from the inside Lane to the outside Lane go straight over and just Slams on the brakes okay and I'm just trying to get behind him and he Slams on his Brak and I didn't even have my lights on that that point but he just stops in the middle of the road I hit him right even with a change of story from tailgating to horning it was still a very strange reason for a stop as horning at an officer couldn't be illegal especially when they suddenly decide to 360 in front of but the officers would side with their partner and humiliate the already distressed couple and what you did slaming on your I slam on my brakes that's his word that's not mine and my wife that's fine I didn't slam on my brakes so are you one of these people to the police no I'm not Sounds here saying White priv not whenever we're going We Are the officers wanted the driver in the wrong and got his wife to apologize so they would feel validated and claimed they let them go in good favors they needed someone else to believe they were right because no matter how much they tried they didn't quite believe it themselves hey Ryan yes sir you feel pretty confident what you did with right yes sir the turn and everything I didn't cut anyone off one made a quick U-Turn when I pulled in when I went pull in turn around to get B him he saw him moving straight over I moved over to try to get behind him I'm talking about when you first did the U-turn back when he was following you yes sir that car was going 60 was talking about when you pull when you slow down they say you slammed on your brakes and did a u-turn I had brakes and turned around I wouldn't say I was slammed on the brakes like slamming hard on it I didn't do that I mean I hit the brakes to turn around so I'm not police control has I'm trying to turn around all right the disabled veteran was issued a citation for stopping on a highway and tailgating and he never filed a lawsuit or received compensation for the damage to his car or his wife's mental health but after 2 years the couple raised more than $20,000 for legal fees and filed a lawsuit against officer Wingo who had a history of serious complaints including shooting a black lives matter protester in the face and also killing a guy there's no video of the incident but officer Wingo said the suspect grabbed his gun leading the prosecution to justify the use of deadly force however the use of force in the next incident was extremely shocking and it led to a very depressing death need more help me why are you doing this on October 13th 2021 Gastonia police officer Sierra Brooks approached a disabled homeless veteran for allegedly panhandling I just saw you take money from that car yeah you saw me take money but you didn't see me as all right let me get your ID okay you can't ask for my ID for giving me money okay get your dog okay yes I can it's called pan handling but it's not pan handling if I didn't ask for it is it ID you can give me your ID or you can go to jail for RDO which one you want to do what's the ID for though because I'm about to write you a citation for what for panhandling that's not panhandling yes it is no it's not if you come up to me and give me money you walk out to the car because they stopped did you see them stop give me your ID you saw the whole situation give me your ID or you're going to for RDO which is resist the layup struck okay you're going to write a disabled veteran that's living in the woods a ticket yes because I asked you not to do it and you did I didn't do it you watch here I'm packing my stuff up I sit there and watch you watch me walk up the sidewalk thir City I'm out with that that subject like you literally watch me walk up the sidewalk stop give me your ID you're going to write me a ticket yes gasy at the time pan handling was regulated in North Carolina however the veteran denied asking for the money and since officer Brooks didn't see it happen she didn't have enough evidence to site him but her ego drove her to escalate the issue and her partner officer Maurice Taylor would make the situation much worse well just out with him I told him he couldn't be on the median yeah that's why I was packing my stuff up walk out to a car to get money yeah I saw him at the Circle K the other day uh with a car yeah yeah so now he's refusing to give me his ID because I'm going to write him she's trying to write me a ticket because I was walking up there packing up she told me to pack up and I was literally my and somebody stopped and gave me money you saw it yesterday he saw it too people give me money without me asking I don't have because because because you're first of all I mean it it it can be inferred okay because that's the way the law Works things can be inferred so if it appears that you're violating an ordinance that's how that works right but if so if you're so so so let me tell you let cuz cuz you're not a lawyer you can get one but I can tell you how the law works you're in the median right you're waving at people in the Medan after after I told you down like this I sit there and observe you and that lady is a witness down there yeah and I walked up I packed like you told I just want you to know you can go to jail for this ordinance if you if you listen if you if you continue to argue with officers you're going to go to jail and you're and and we're going we and we are we are we are going to call animal control for your dog you got it that's that okay so so no you cannot you cannot be can you cannot be here that's fine I told her I was leaving I interet you asking for money because you walk out to the dude you saw it I was standing here talking now you don't give me your you would call Anal for what you're wife take it for Crime can we get your a day dude I didn't commit this crime the homeless veteran was out in the median with a service dog but the officers treated him like a wanted felon they'd been chasing down for years they failed to deescalate the very minor situation so the veteran chose to by providing his ID but even this couldn't save him from the unfortunate incident ahead there you go no we your state a not your VA a this is valid it's not valid I the veteran was already in a terrible position with being homeless and disabled and needed all the help he could get but instead the officers dragged him to the ground and shot his service dog onlookers apparently didn't like this interaction but they had no idea that it would get worse as Sunshine was hit and killed by a car just two days after the incident this L Joshua in misery as he reported that Sunshine was his Lifeline in this world with dist stress forcing him to take a range of psychiatric medications and even have having life-ending thoughts his charges of handh handling and resisting arrest were eventually dropped and he sued the city of Gastonia and his arresting officers for violating his first fourth and 14th amendments along with rights afforded under the
