A 911 hang-up call led officers to a residence where the front door was standing wide open. But the call didn't come from an adult. It came from a terrified six-year-old child. Inside, the sounds of a woman screaming and kids crying created an immediate sense of urgency. When police stepped in to ensure the children's safety, the mother didn't accept the help. She snapped. He left me at the business cuz he probably >> left me there. >> Did you guys argue at the bar? No, we didn't. >> Okay. So, he thinks he you he saw something. >> Yes. He didn't like. So, then I came home and I confronted him and I was like, "What are you doing leaving me there? Like, I'm the mother of your kids. You can't leave me there." Our employee drove me home. I got home. >> Where were your kids at? >> Right here. Home. >> Yeah. My mother-in-law My mother-in-law was taking care of them. And then when he got home, he sent her home. So, then she left. >> And then I was just screaming and my kids got scared because >> Why were you screaming? >> Because I'm mad. Because like, why do you leave me at our business? You're screaming at your husband over for leaving us. >> You know, you know, we could have left. We could have left. You wouldn't be in handcuffs right now. We could have left. You could have >> neither of us called our our the cops. My kids called me because we're used to it. Well, we know a 911 call. >> I'm just like >> you would talk to the cops and then let us talk to your kids and then you can explain them in your own words after we left. >> Great. >> What happened? >> Can you take the hair out of my mouth right here? >> Okay. >> I just said we need to adjust your handcuffs. >> No, they're so tight. I said you >> I do. We need to adjust them. Fix >> I'm not going to move. I promise. >> Can you give me a flashlight, dude? I just said you can't leave me at a place where you feel like I was talking to other guys and it's full of guys. Like you just you can't do that. And then I >> You're not free to leave. You know that. >> I know. And then R is embarrassing. >> Okay. All right. Come back. I'm just going to read Jess. >> Karen, right? Yeah. >> All right. My name's Peter. Okay. >> Yeah. I just feel like that's embarrassing. I said we have your leading >> humiliating and it's embarrassing. Okay. All right. Hang on. I'm trying to figure out how to lock this. Can you cover me in front, please? >> No one can see it right now. Give me one second. Okay. I think that one's good. Karen, >> sorry. I'm just trying to figure these out. These are not my handcuffs. >> There we go. Okay. Okay. There you go. We just don't fight like this. >> Can you cover me? >> Sure. >> Yes. Trying to >> Yeah, I know. Just pull it forward. >> Trying to >> Yeah. Thank you. >> Okay. >> We don't fight like this. But to me, it's humiliating that he'd leave. >> Sure. >> I don't know. He saw something he didn't like. He just left me. So I text him. I was like, where are you? He's like, I love you. Can stay there by yourself, enjoy. And I'm like, what? Enjoy what? >> Okay. >> So then I had our employee drive us home when I got here. His mom was gone by by then. >> Okay. So you confronted him on why he left you? >> Yeah. And then he said, "Oh, because there was a guy that went up to you and touched your back when you went to say something to him." I was like, "Well, I can't control other people, but I control myself and I know that I didn't talk to him anymore." And to me, it's just embarrassing for my husband to leave me there. >> Okay. Yeah, I understand. I understand a lot. Okay. So then after that, what else happened? >> See, we just kept screaming and fighting on each other. So my kids call 911. You >> tell your kids to call 911? >> No, you can call. >> How do they call 911? Which phone do they use? >> Well, they each have their own phone. >> They have their own phones. >> You can go ask them why they call 911. All right. >> I give you permission to glass. >> Okay, we will. Officer Diaz or somebody >> You can go ask them. >> Okay. Yeah, I'm good. Um Okay. Actually, no. Since she's like this, stay with me. >> I don't You know what I mean? >> Yep. >> Um >> I'll kill >> Yeah. Tell him how how But the dad might >> Okay. Um I'm very sorry that this went down like this. Okay. But you kind of left us at no choice there. You were very uncooperative folks from the beginning. >> Well, I know because I didn't call you. >> I know, but just let me talk. Let me talk. Let me finish. >> Okay. So, I'm very sorry this had to happen, >> but it had to because it kind of left us no choice. So, I'm going to grab the door. That's why >> we have a ring camera. I didn't >> Yeah, we have a ring camera. >> It was when you try to close the door on him. Try to lock it and I >> didn't I didn't touch you at all when the door. We have a ring camera. >> We have a story now. What happened >> from her? At least on her side >> because I know that he's not allowed in without us letting him in. >> No, there's things called exit. >> Yeah, but it's not one of the parents that called. It's a kid. >> We don't know who called. >> Okay. But the door was open. So then the door being open probably had reasonable belief. Probably called. >> But I He knows that I didn't touch him. >> Well, yeah, but we didn't know that at the time. No. Yes, you did touch his arm. He has scratches on his arm. >> Okay. And you hit me in the wrist over there with the door. >> Look at my Look at my nails. You know that I would leave claws if I did scratch them. We saw the red marks. We already saw it. >> He literally just showed you he has no red marks on him. >> Yeah, man. >> It's there. >> Listen. So that's why you left us had no choice to do what we had to do. Okay. We're past We're past the door being open. We're past officer Diaz being in there. We had to investigate a crime that was being committed. >> I was thinking you will ask my husband if I felt like a threat to him because I was questioning why he left me at our barber. >> We just needed a cooperation from either one either one of you and we would have left. But it's just embarrassing to be left at your own business that you worked so hard for. >> I understand. And that's this that's a conversation you two are going to have to have at a later date. Okay? That's something you guys are going to have at a later date. Okay? I'm very sorry [snorts] you're in this position right now. I really am. I know it has to suck to be in a you're [snorts] on your block here. You have a you guys run the business together. Okay? You've been it's not something you want your kids to see. You have to get through this. Okay? It takes time. You can literally ask them if I understand you guys probably with them. You guys probably go ask them. >> Go ask them. >> You guys probably they're not going to lie. They're >> I know you guys have probably been drinking a little bit today. So that kind of gets mixed emotions and those things all running. You know what I mean? >> We work so hard for like one day Father's Day. We can't joy. >> Oh, I understand. I understand. And that's what happens when all calls involved. >> Can you go ask my kids if this has ever happened before? >> We will. We will. We're going to. Okay. All right. Are we ready to go to the PD? >> Okay. All right. Let's have a seat now. Okay, Karen. >> I mean, am I not going to get out today? >> No, you're not. You have to have a seat. Okay. >> Can you guys just dress me right here? I won't. >> No, we can't. We're We're going to have We're going to have a female offic listen. We're going to have a female deputy come to the station to get you. >> She can't get me dress. >> We can't. We can't. We're on the street. We can't. It has to be done in privacy. I can't. The fact that you're almost happy with me right now. I literally approve for her to give me church. >> I can't. You have to do it at the police station. Police station's right down the street. Okay. Have a seat. Just sit on your rope. Okay. All right. You okay? You in? Watch yourself. Okay. I'm just going to pull the strap on. >> No, there's no bail anymore. >> We're just going to open this door and give you some air. We're waiting for a female off. That's why you're just still sitting here. >> I don't need air. >> Oh, you don't need air? No. Okay. Oh, okay. >> Uh, this is Officer Perez. She's going to help you get dressed and everything. Okay. So, when we have a female come in, we need a female to search a female. And we have a male come in, we need a male to search a male. But since obviously you're kind of half naked, she has to help you. Okay.
