This 83-year-old woman is about to have her lottery winnings robbed. The incident occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. on January 15th, 2025 in Orlando, Florida. Surveillance footage shows the woman exiting the business and walking to her car with the winnings in hand. Moments later, a man approaches her and grabs the cash. Another man rushes out of the store and tries to stop the robbery, but the suspect strikes the woman, causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect managed to break free and fled with $200 of the woman's winnings. >> Who was that? He was a white man with a jacket. >> Was that >> $200 something dollars? I had a hat. >> And they went over came out and tried to he >> I was driving by officers. I seen her on the ground struggling. So I jumped the curb. >> He's back here in a homeless camp. He ran through here. I turned and I followed him and I chased his ass down into the woods. Yeah. Last place. He's behind that tower. You'll see my tire. He took his jacket off. >> Yeah. Back over there. He took his jacket off. It's laying somewhere over there. He's got a green t-shirt on and he's got a cross standing. There's a bunch of homeless people cuz I went in there with my gun. >> Green shirt tattoo on his neck. >> He's got a cross. Yes. On this side of his neck. You want to prosecute him? You want to prosecute? You want to prosecute? Yes. But he's back. The officer, he took his jacket off. It's a red like windbreaker. It's over here behind one of those buildings right there. >> Okay. So, he has a red jacket on. He took it off. >> T-shirt. >> Okay. Pants shorts. >> He was behind when you go down in there. >> They chased me out. But he had either a light skin black male or Hispanic. >> Okay. >> Ma'am, do you need the fire department to come check you out? No. >> Do you know what happened? >> I know. >> You sure you don't want to get checked out? >> You sure? >> I don't. >> I would recommend you get checked out. I had two on. >> Yeah, we can have them check you out. Would you like that? >> Okay. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> County, can you get FD 51? >> Check you out just to make sure everything. >> Okay. So, can you tell me what happened? >> So, were you out here? And >> I kept walking out. >> Okay. All of a sudden, >> you walked out of there or you walked out of here? >> Walked out of >> She walked out of the store basically. She was at the at the door of her car at the moment. As soon as at the door, the guy came from, I guess, down there as on the camera, comes towards her, tries to take her money. >> She pulls back. >> As she pulls back, he goes, then comes back, tries to get the money again. Then the manager comes out and tries to get him off her. He push the guy pushes her on the ground and afterwards he ran. >> So you were holding money in your hand. He came up, grabbed it, pushed you, and then ran away. >> Yeah, there. >> Okay. Which way did he run? He ran that way towards the Burger King. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Uh, fire department's on its way. They're going to come check you out. Okay. Um, >> you witnessed everything. >> Uh, no, but they did show me on camera. He comes at you from that area >> and he snatches it out of your hand. >> Yeah. >> Were you trying to hold it? >> Did he do anything else other than snatch it? Did he do anything else other than to try to snatch it? Did he grab you? Did he push you? anything like that? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? And then on day you're going to um as you previously mentioned just say that you wish to prosecute. Okay. >> Okay. Just say that for me. The investigators were able to identify the suspect as Diego Stalin Tiveras Flurry. The very next morning, officers moved in to apprehend him. [Music] [Applause] Diego Stalin Tavvarz Florie now faces multiple charges including robbery by sudden snatching and battery on on a person 65 years of age or older. These are serious felony charges under Florida law, carrying the potential for years in prison if convicted.
