I know you want to leave, but he's very clearly explained you can't leave right now. What can we do to help you feel a little more comfortable? >> Hey, Curtis. I'm Officer Dixon. My name is Dorian. I want to make sure something's understood. Can you show me that you're listening to me real quick? It's super important that you understand. If you don't follow these officers instructions, they may use force on you. We don't want to hurt you. We want to help you. But if you fight us or you try to run, we may have to protect ourselves and that might involve you getting hurt. We don't want to hurt you. Okay? We just want to talk. >> Oh, okay. >> Okay. Do you understand what I'm telling you? >> Hi, Le. I'm sorry, Chris. [Music] [Music] Look at the response you're getting, man. You're not going to escort me or something. >> You're under arrest, man. And the only reason why you came out of time cuz you said you had to use the bathroom. That's it. >> Yeah. I pissed it. So >> So what can we do to resolve this now? Cuz we already passed that point. We're told you're not you're not [Music] [Applause] [Music] going to keep waiting. I'm asking you in your court, man. I'm giving you I'm giving you the the questions. What are we doing, man? Balls in your court. We told you what we need you to do. I'm willing to work with you, but you have to work with us a little bit, too. It's give and take. [Applause] We can't help you out of this situation if you don't help us as well. >> Okay? There's no way out of this. We're going to resolve this peaceful. We don't want to do something. >> So, don't put us in that position. What's his name? Curtis. Curtis. Curtis, how you doing? Curtis, I need you to focus on me. All right. So, I'm Lieutenant. Okay. So, I'm the watch commander here in the Northwest area command. Right. So, I'm the main supervisor right now. Can I leave? No, you cannot leave. That is not that is not even an option. Okay. Uh, you are under arrest. There's no other options. There's There's no You are under arrest. You are going to go to jail today. No matter what. I'm not there's no other options than that either. Okay. Now, the quicker you comply with us, the quicker you can go to jail and get on out and go to the judicial system. Are you listening to me, Curtis? All right. So, we only got 8 more minutes. All right. It's 12:52 right now. You only got to 1:00. Okay? As as these officers already explained to you numerous times, cuz I already heard them numerous times, we don't want to use force, man. We want to get you in and out so you can be on your way. We don't want We definitely don't want to use force on you. Okay. You do not want to do that. But we can't we can't sit we can't sit here all day. All right. You understand me, Curtis? I'm not trying to be direct, man. I'm not trying to be too too much of a jerk right now, okay? I'm just being truthful with you. And if we use force, this is another truth. It's it it hurts. And I don't we don't want to hurt you. It's physically painful and we don't want to do that. >> And that's the truth. I'm being truthful with you, man. >> All right. >> It's not even going to happen. >> What's not going to happen? I can tell you one thing that's going to happen, though. You're going to go to jail. Okay? You got to go to jail. You got to account for your actions just like an adult. >> That's not happening either. >> What's that? >> It's not happening. >> It's going to happen, Chris. I promise you it's going to happen. >> Like I said, man, I am not trying to be a jerk, man. I am I am being 100% truthful with you, okay? You're an adult. I'm an adult. You des You deserve that. You deserve the truth and I'm giving you the truth. >> Okay? I'm not beating around the bush with you. All right? I'm not trying to lie to you, be good cop, bad cop. I'm not trying to do that. I'm telling you the absolute 100% truth. All right, Curtis, we got time. We got We got only seven more minutes, >> but don't make don't make bad choices, man. I I really don't we really do not want to use force on you, okay? I don't I don't want to see you hurt. I don't want to see an officer hurt. I don't want to see anybody hurt. These things don't take too long. You're It's shoplifting. >> Okay. Where's that? >> He's obviously nice and slow. Nice slow. Remember training. Remember SLPs, nice. Remember, time's on our side. I know this sucks, okay? And this is what you wanted to have happen, but the lieutenant is right. This is a quick process. So, have you ever been to jail before? [Applause] I know this isn't what you want, but by cooperating with this and going through the process quickly, it ends pretty quickly. and then you'll get your court date and then all of this is just in the past. But if you fight us, you pick up extra charges that are now felony charges and that makes everything much much worse. Do you hear what I'm telling you? All I want is for you not to make this worse. I want this to be what it is and then let's get it over with. Let's not add to it. Curtis, I can appreciate that you look like you're a tough dude, but I'm looking for the time. >> You don't know what that means? >> You've got about four more minutes. All I'm asking for you to do is cooperate with us. Cut the chair. [Music] So Curtis, I need you to understand if you throw that chair at us, you try to attack us and flee, you're going to pick up charges, extra charges up to and including battery on the police officer, which is a felony, and then your shoplifting becomes a lot worse. [Applause] Again, Chris, we don't want to hurt you. We just want your cooperation so we can help get this process done. And the sooner we start that process, the sooner we get to the end and then you can get about your business once all said and done. >> Would you at least talk to me? >> No. I'll bless you. Bless you. >> So you want to blast through us? Is that what you said? >> Okay. >> I couldn't understand what you said. >> Okay. not listening. Okay. [Applause] Let me specify a little bit more. All right. I'm not going to let you hurt one of these officers. All right. Look at your stance right now. Look what you're doing. You obviously you obviously are physically going to resist us and not go to jail. I'm not going to let you hurt one of these officers. All right. So, what we're going to use I'm I'm actually going to specify what we're going to use. We're going to use our taser. And it hurt. Again, goes back to my point. It hurts. >> It hurts. bathroom, bro. You can do it. Go on. >> Okay. Again, man, I'm being 100% truthful with you cuz I'm not going to let you I'm not going to let officer go hands on with you the way you are right now. >> Do it. What are we talking? Go on and do it. I'm trying to help you out, man. >> Just drop the chair. Do it. >> Drop it. I don't I don't want to taste it. >> It hurts. Someone's turn. [Music] Sorry. I got his arm. I got his arm. >> Don't let him reach for the weapon. >> Got his arm. >> Don't let him reach for a weapon. >> Oh my gosh. I'm sorry. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> You okay?
