On June 21st, 2023, an undercover detective was on routine patrol when a vehicle nearly collided with his unmarked cruiser. But instead of driving away, the suspect ripped a screeching U-turn, accelerated to 60 mph, and began actively chasing the officer down, leaving the detective with only seconds to react before being run completely off the road. Where did the car [ __ ] park? I just NOW ALMOST HIT MY CAR. THERE WAS CARS PARKED ON THE SIDE of the road. I wasn't parked on the side OF THE ROAD. Ultimately, the suspect was safely taken into custody and formally charged with reckless driving and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators quickly discovered the vehicle he used was a rental car displaying an unassigned license plate. The car was towed from the scene and the suspect was transported to the county jail without further incident.
