throw you in cuffs right now. >> I thought you were going to be a big boy, huh? >> Put your hands behind your back. I'm not I'm not sitting here doing this [ __ ] Get in the car. >> Why are you teasing me? Get in the car. Why are you beating me? >> Hey, come here. Come here. >> Stop. Stop. >> Stop. She's fine. She's fine. >> Piece by piece, it became clear something was very wrong. And once officers recognized how dangerous the situation truly was, they knew they had to act before it escalated. >> To park up because that man, that man parks up. >> All right. All right. >> This is when hero cops sense something very wrong in this dangerous house. Here is law zone where features real police body cam footage documenting how officers handle tense and unpredictable situations as they happen. The first incident is that mom arrested after child found wandering on busy highway. Did mom know you're leaving? >> Yes, >> she did. >> I told her. >> She know that she wasn't home. >> Well, yeah. I mean, I had told her that. >> Oh, okay. Go ahead. Put your hands behind your back. On February 24th, 2024 in Port Charlotte, Florida, deputies in Charlotte County responded after a young boy was found alone riding his toy big wheel along US41 near the intersection of Tamiami Trail and Camro Street. The child was wearing only a shirt and told deputies he was heading to his grandmother's house because his mother was not home. Officials were unable to reach the boy's mother by phone or at the home. So, the child's grandmother was called and located the mother inside. >> He says, "Hi." >> We came along and he was driving off here going this way. >> Going that way. >> Yeah. And he was on this part of the road here. >> Hey, buddy. >> We're trying to get some info. So, this is where we gather. Let's see if we get his name. >> Okay. He says his mom's name is last name is Pain. >> Pain. >> Uhhuh. And the grandma is Shannon. >> Shannon. >> But >> we don't know where they he was supposed to go to grandma's home. >> Supposed to go to grandma's house. >> Yes. He says it's about two or three miles away, but he left. I don't think he's very sure. He's not dressed to leave or anything. It looks like he lives on his own. You know, it it doesn't look like it was a planned trip. >> Gotcha. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, do you know what they're here for? To >> help to help you to find your grandma's house. >> This does your friends. >> So, what's your last name, bud? You know your last name? >> I keep my >> So, you just leave you leave. >> You leave with mom. >> Bake shop near my grandma's house. A bake shop. >> There's a bake shop. >> It's a big shop. >> Oh. >> By your house. By the shops. Is it by the shop? >> No. Trip shop. >> Trip shock. >> A trip shock or shock? >> Shock. >> Shock. >> I think my house is somewhere that way. >> Do you mind just read your nose? Okay. >> Did mom know you were leaving? >> Yes, >> she did. >> I told her. >> You told her? And what'd she say? Jose you find on a way to get there. >> Okay. So, you remember where you came from? Like which way? Is your home that way toward that way? It's down the road that way. >> Deputies place the minor safely in a patrol vehicle and coordinate with family members and child welfare authorities. Yeah, I go to >> Would you be able to show me if we went for a ride? >> I can go to grand house. >> You know where? Would you be able to take me to grandma's house if we drove? >> Okay, I can take the camera. >> Yeah, >> I don't know what to >> I guess I keep this here for grandma. >> Okay. Do you know grandma's last name? Is it also Parker? No. What's your grandma's last name? >> Shannon, >> huh? >> Shannon. >> Shannon Dermit. >> Demit. >> Demit. Right. You want to come sit in my car? >> Don't worry. >> Huh? >> Don't worry about him. >> We'll get him home. I'll try and get him home as best I can. >> A grandma's car. >> Okay, buddy. >> So, so, so you are in the big car now. Look at you. It's like the movies. >> I'm going to grandma's house. >> Yes, you're going to grandma's home. Nice to see you, Yulo. >> Byebye. Thank you. >> Yeah, I >> Yeah, that's what he was saying. He lives right down there. >> Thank you for coming out. I really appreciate it. So, what's going on? We're just on the phone with DCF to figure out what they want to do cuz I know DCF's been involved with him already. All right. So, that's why we're just kind of waiting and we just want to be it's a Saturday, you know, we're not in any rush for anything. We just want to really take our time and do things right. So, okay. Just to let you leave you in in the loop. >> Okay. I just didn't know whether you were maybe going to release him to me or not. I was >> That's going to kind of break that. We'll do that maybe after the direction of DCF, you know. So, um, was she unconscious or something or I mean I don't know if she she like found on like if she was like found unconscious like with an injury or anything like that or >> it's it she has all these fans on in that bedroom. You can't hear from the door. >> Deputies locate the parent inside the residence and clarify that the doors were unlocked and the parent was asleep at the time. >> I mean, It's like almost sound. >> Yeah. So, she was asleep in that. Okay. >> But I had called before I had reached her after I talked to you. So, she was awake and then when I opened the door, I just wonder why she didn't come to the door when we were knocking. >> I don't think she heard you cuz I mean I yelled three times then she heard me. >> Did she know that the kid wasn't home? >> Well, yeah. I mean, I told her that. >> Oh, okay. Go ahead. >> On the phone after I talked to y'all, I called her until I reached her and then and then when I went in, I just yelled, but it took about three times for her to hear me in there. It's just >> fine. So you called her up from when you were leaving at your house and >> once Well, I was already on the road. So >> I was on my way to work and they called and told me that he that they found him. So I came here and I have an antique store in Arcadia. >> Oh, cool. Oh, all right. So and you're you're in Maka when you when you're on your way to Arcadia. You still live in on Warren, right? >> Yeah. Okay. Yeah. >> I'm sorry. Got a little confused. >> Same thing different. All right. So you're on the way out. You get called from us that we're out here, right? Then you call up mom. You call her up. All right. And then you just tell her that you know he was out here with us and >> Oh, I didn't tell her he was outside with y'all cuz I didn't know where he was at the time. They told me to make contact on 41, which is what I did and where he was. So, >> it wasn't until dangerous. >> It's very scary. And the fact that he thought he was driving in my house is even scarier. That's what he >> by car, but I can't imagine on his on his motorcycle he would find his way. He's actually really good with directions. Not that I wanted to drive an ATV to my house, but I mean, amazingly, he knows like when I'm heading to bring him home or if I'm bringing going to grandma's or whatever, he knows all the directions, though. Um, so yeah, he probably could have made it a little ways, but >> Okay. So, he's going to figure out, like I said, we're going to, you know, we're to care for him. We're going to have, you know, we'll leave that be up to to DCF. We don't make those decisions. Um, because that's civil and that's his, you know, care of the kids. We don't >> Deputies advise the parent of rights and begin a formal interview regarding supervision and home security. I'm not saying we don't take care of the kids. This is that's a separation of jobs. So, all right. All right. So, if you just want, I said, hang tight there near Deputy Troder and he'll help you out and then we'll just go from there. We're going to go talk to Corey. You're Cory, right? Okay. So, good morning. I'm Robert Gay. This is Mr. Mills. So, nice meeting you. All right. You can have a seat. It's all right. Um, just kind of figuring out what's going on here. All right. So, I mean, of course, we're outside your house. So, um, just because, like I said, some of the questions we might get into, I'm just going to go over some things. All right. So, have you ever been involved with a um, uh, like an investigation where you had a provider statement or anything like that? >> Um, provided a statement before you. >> Okay. So, um, what's your full name on your date of birth? >> Cory and >> you any influence of any drugs, alcohol? No. Are you impaired in any way? >> No. >> All right. So, you're not on any types of medication or anything like that that would make you like, you know, silly or loopy or extremely tired? No. >> Okay. You haven't received any like uh injuries or fallen down and bumped your head or anything like that? No. >> All right. Perfect. >> All right. So, um I'm just going to go over um the Miranda warning. Okay. So, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you can say uh could be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before we ask you any questions and to have a lawyer with you during questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you before any question if you wish. If you decide to answer questions without a lawyer present, you will still have the right to stop answering any time. And you also have the right to stop answering anytime until you talk to a lawyer. Did I go over that too fast? Okay. I just want cuz sometimes when we >> the parent explains the morning timeline unlocked doors hearing limitations and belief the minor had returned to sleep. >> We read things we end up reading a little bit too fast. So all right you understand that? Yes. >> Okay. Do you know what perjury means? >> Yes. >> All right. What does purgatory mean to you? >> Um lying um lying under like a oath or >> Yeah. Perfect. And it's lying under oath. That could be done in one of two ways. One by saying the pickup here is uh black where it's obviously white or by leaving out bits of parts of the truth. Okay. So basically we're concerned about um does he go by how Okay. So what happened today? >> I don't know. He woke up at 5:30. Like he woke me up at 5:30 in the morning. He just started sleeping in his own room. And normally he sleeps with me so I can hear him when he gets up. >> Buddy's been like wanting to be bigger and sleep in his own bed, which is like down the hallway. But he woke me up at 5:30 and he just wanted the tablet back on and said he was going to go back to sleep. And then after that he just didn't wake me up again. Like I thought he went back to sleep and I went back to sleep. Okay. Um, do you know where he was found? >> Mom said he was at 41. >> Yeah, he's on 41. Like >> a mile away. >> Yeah. Like he's never done that before. [clears throat] Like he always wakes me up like understand why >> the door I mean do you sleep with the door the doors not locked or >> No, the doors aren't locked. >> Okay. [clears throat] Is there a reason why the doors aren't locked that night or >> Well, I was waiting for my brother to come home last night. He never came home, but I left the doors unlocked so we could get in the house. >> Okay. Um, and then today >> none of us have a key to the house. >> Nobody has a key to the house. >> Yeah, we have to get the thing changed out. No, >> that that's kind of unsafe, wouldn't it? I mean, >> like I said, you know, so yeah, we we you got to have a secured house, you know, provide security and very important. >> Yes. >> Um, you know, I understand, you know, people are in different positions. We all don't live in the same, you know, same castles or tents or whatever. We all live differently. But providing security >> block that's been on the house. It's been the same one for a long time and over time the keys just kind of got lost. >> Yeah. If you go to that habitat place on 41 >> I have a new one. I just I need drill bits for mom to put the one on. >> Okay. Um so now when we found him, we we kind of knew where where we ended up finding his his house and Mr. Mills came by here and he was banging on the doors and stuff. Did he not hear us? >> No, but my hearing is really bad. >> Okay. Okay. >> Like I failed my hearing test before. >> All right. So, cuz they were knocking on the front door, knocking on the back door. >> Usually I rely on the dogs like barking. >> I'm saying, "Yeah, >> what was the dog doing?" >> Deputies question response time, prior child welfare history, and supervision decisions emphasizing safety expectations. >> The outside was barking at me. >> Yeah. Like she usually comes to the like my door. >> The inside was barking for >> Yeah. The big one usually comes to my door and that's when I hear whatever. [snorts] >> And then so what woke you up today? >> My mom calling. >> All right. What did mom tell you? >> That was at 41 and get the hell up. >> All right. What did you do? >> I got up. >> We were out here when your mom called though. You never came to the front door or nothing? >> Yeah, cuz I didn't hear any of you. >> Okay. So, you were awake and you still didn't hear us knocking on the doors, >> I guess. So, >> okay. No. No. Was on 41. Did he have any inkling to maybe get up and put on some sneakers and >> Yeah. I mean, as soon as she said that, I came out. >> She called. She called and said he was at 41. And then I got up and was like told Craig what had happened. >> You didn't come out until your mom woke up, got you, and brought you outside. >> Well, I didn't I didn't know what was going on. I tried to call her back and be like, "Where at on 41?" to be able [clears throat] to go down there and figure out what was going on. And she didn't answer. It wasn't until she like called back and you guys were here that I got told that you guys were here with him and what was going on fully. >> Yeah. And actually that was a verbal conversation cuz your mom walked in the home. >> Yes. >> Yeah. Okay. All right. So, and then so >> she never called me back. So, I didn't know where at on 41 or what I was supposed to be doing if she was down there or what was going on. >> So, and you said that you're not on any medication. So, you know, I mean, and I know it's your job as a as to provide care and security. >> Yes. >> All right. So, when you're told is out on 41, which is I mean, it's not it's not too too far from here. [snorts] I mean, whether I had a license or not, >> it was only a couple minutes span before she got here. It >> was like 15. >> Yeah. between your mom calling you and then mom coming in. >> I was trying to get a hold of her to figure out where on 41. I had no idea where he was at on 41. Okay. >> Or if she was down there, if I was supposed to be like I wasn't sure if she would already had him and he was that was my understanding of it. >> Now Craig's inside too, right? >> Yes. >> Now, how how and again I'm you know whatever you how long you've been dating Craig? So >> it's two months. >> Okay. Knows Craig. So if like you ran out to go find and he came back and Craig was there would have been all right, right? So >> I mean it just seems like there's like a big like either LZ fair attitude about being a parent or a lack of like I give a damn. >> I didn't know where he was at on 41 and I thought my mom was there and was fine and I was trying to get a hold of her so I knew where to go on 41. >> I for all I knew he could have been really far down. I did not know. >> Do you have a license? >> No. >> Did you call the sheriff's office? No, I was trying to call her back. I thought she would call back before then. I was just trying to get a hold of her. >> Well, I'm just saying if my was missing, I would probably come out of my house first and then probably call the sheriff's office and find out, hey, where's my kid at? >> Yes, but she like from my understanding she was with him and that he was safe. If she wasn't, like if I didn't think she was, then I would have been freaking out. >> [clears throat] >> and like I said and you you didn't even we were still knocking on your door. >> I didn't hear anybody. >> Okay. Well, >> even when I was awake at that point, I still didn't hear anybody. My hearing is bad. It's not that I just sleep too hard and don't give a >> Well, that's what I mean that's what it kind of seems like. Okay. And I'm not trying to be mean. I I I'm trying to say this with compassion because I'm a parent, too. And I know and it's not as if like you haven't been guided or pro you you've been involved with DCF investigations before. Correct. >> Yes. And they've always been closed out because I've always showed that I was adequate. >> Well, maybe we shouldn't aim for adequate. >> I'm I'm saying more than anything. >> Well, some of that's going to include make getting a lock. >> I understand that. making sure he, you know, and then putting that high when you do get a kid. >> Normally, >> deputies place the parent under arrest, arrange temporary care with the grandmother, and refer the case to child welfare services. >> Yeah. Sleeping with me. He should not be in his own room because then like I don't hear him get up. >> Well, that's okay to have kids have their rooms, but >> Yes. But I'm saying then he'll go and do what he wants and like try to like be independent instead of waking me up. The only way like that wasn't the case before was because I heard him get out of bed and then I was up with him. You have any questions, Mr. Mills? >> Uh, no. >> All right. All right, Cory, stand on up, please. Put your hands behind your back for child neglect. We'll get you closed. Okay. Let me come on up here to the car. >> That way, we're not we can keep you semi-dressed. All right. >> I'm going to let you I'm going to let your grandmother let grandma go get some clothes. Can you let grandma go get some clothes? 21 central. >> Cory's been under arrest for child neglect. >> You trust Craig to be here at the house? >> I don't know. >> Okay. Can you just grab some comfortable clothes, please? Maybe. Um, >> wears your clothes. What do you want? >> Some footwear or sandals. >> [laughter] >> Do you have um do you have underclo on? >> I I see only the shirt here. Huh? >> Yes, you do. Okay. All right. I said I still want to, you know, treat you like a lady. Okay. >> Yeah, you're really not. But all right. >> All right. Well, give me your mate. Let's do it this way then. You want to play around? I'm not playing. You guys very late. is everything. I've never done anything wrong to him. I get [clears throat] that I didn't die, but by scared. >> Yeah. Don't even let him say bye. Like >> I've never been away from him. >> Okay. Just going to have to hang on. I'm good. I'm going to reach over so I can grab the seat belt if you're all right. We just have her like she >> Okay. >> Grandma, just so you know what's going on cuz I want to try to be fair. Okay. It's >> okay. That's what we feel right now. Like I said, this is not the end of the game. whatever the state figures out in DCF. I know there's a little bit of a history with DCF with her >> and like I said, >> she's [clears throat] under your care now. >> Um, >> he said you get the >> she wanted to talk to >> you want to allow that or no? >> What now? >> She wanted to say something. >> Are you all right with that? >> Okay. I just want to be, you know, like I said, because I can't allow that because he's not my kid, but right now he's under the custody of you. >> So, I was like, I'll let him say goodbye real quick through the windows. >> Talk to mommy a minute. Let me straighten your pants first. >> Those task. >> Did you get dressed by yourself? >> Who dressed you this morning? >> Good job. Good job. >> In the back of my car. You know where you're sitting in this car. In the back of my car. Okay. So, you're going to see in a couple days hopefully. All right. >> Okay. >> A couple days. >> Well, cuz you're going to be hanging with your grandma. >> So, a couple days. >> Yeah. >> Just made him happy. Is that okay? >> For a couple days. >> For a couple days. We'll we'll go from there. All right. >> This is not the way. >> The parent was charged with neglect of a minor without great bodily harm for failing to provide adequate supervision. Remember, adequate supervision and secured living spaces are essential to prevent unintended departures. Law enforcement and child welfare agencies coordinate closely when minors are found alone in public areas. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. I'm glad deputies focused on keeping the minor safe first. That situation could have gone very differently without [music] quick action. It shows how important home safety measures are. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when police rescue one-year-old after dad passes out drunk. >> Say the numbers out loud. Just say it out loud. >> I don't know that boy. >> If you want me to take care of it, I'll >> On July 8th, 2025, police in Joliet, Illinois, responded to a report of an intoxicated man with a one-year-old child outside a hotel. Officers said witnesses reported the man had been passed out near the parking lot while he was supposed to be caring for the child. >> Okay. No, no, no. Stop, dude. >> Dude, stop. Stop. Put the baby down. He doesn't like this. >> You can You can barely stand up right now. >> You can barely stand up right now. Put the cape down. Let's go have a seat in your room. >> We go to the front. >> What's up front? >> The desk. >> Okay. What do they have to do with this? >> They have What? My room. My room. He doesn't like you. Exactly. He doesn't like this. >> He probably doesn't like that you're drunk. >> No. >> And passed out. >> Okay. You think that my here in this car? >> This guy here. >> Is this your wallet in your pocket? >> This This wallet is my pocket. Yeah. >> Okay. I need to see your ID >> and my And my [ __ ] back. [crying] >> No. You're making You're You're making me >> I'm not making you do nothing. That's the alcohol, dude. >> You think so? >> You think so, big boy? >> The man becomes argumentative and distracted, repeatedly referencing unrelated individuals and vehicles while officers attempt to focus the interaction. Yeah, I know. You got to go with me. [crying] >> Yeah, you got to deal with this badass. >> You don't have the key to your room? >> I have I have a key right here. >> Give me a key to my room. >> I don't have the key to your room. >> You just took my [ __ ] >> Yeah. >> Give my [ __ ] please. >> You just gave my [ __ ] I can't even walk over. >> Where does she work at? >> I told you twice. >> You didn't tell me anything. >> And And that black guy that was right here, he just told me, right? That black guy that was here, his car is right here. His car is [ __ ] up. Look at his car. Look at his car. >> What does that have to do with any of this [ __ ] >> She was scared to go park up here because that man >> Oh, okay. So, she was scared to park up because that man that man parks up right here. >> Okay. >> And I'm parked up right here. Do we need him? Do you need some help to help with rocks? Ask him next door in that in that car right here. >> Officers confirm the minor is temporarily with an uninvolved witness and escort the man back toward the hotel room. >> What is that? What does what does that car have anything to do with why we're here? Call >> me for what? Call me. >> For what? How's he got your number? >> He's >> Don't order >> like on the like on the hotel phone he called over. >> The man remains uncooperative, is unable to locate his phone or provide contact information, and officers warn that continued non-compliance may result in arrest. >> Hey, boys. Yes, please. What is Come on, Bob. >> All right. Where's your phone? Call your girlfriend. He got up, walks away, said he didn't need any help. >> I can show you right here. >> What's your name, dude? >> Cl? >> Yes. >> Do me a favor, man. Focus. Okay. You have handcuffs in your immediate future if you can't figure out. You understand what I'm talking about? >> Well, here. Here. >> Where is your cell phone? >> Where's your cell phone? >> My cell phone is >> How much did you drink today? >> Stop bullshitting. How much did you drink? >> Man, >> I've been doing this job long enough. I've been drinking myself long enough. Eureka booze. >> Where's your cell phone, man? Get your >> You can't get that drunk that you don't know where your cell phone's at. >> I'm right here. >> That's your room. >> Sir, >> I You don't know her cell phone number. >> I'm right here. How can you not call her back? >> You don't have her number. Tell me what her number is and I'll dial it. >> That's that my number correct. She's at work, you said, right? >> Correct. She's at work. >> Okay. Able to get a phone. >> I don't know if she's She's at the window. She's at the window. >> She's like at the window. >> Yeah. So, she help her. She's at window. Well, somebody from the business should answer and then we can talk to her. >> No, you can't. >> What's your What's her phone number? >> All right. What's her number? >> Say her number out loud right now. Come on. Here we go. >> No, you have to go to the window. >> I understand that. What's her number? What's her cell phone number? Say the numbers out loud. Just say it out loud. >> I don't know that, boss. No. At this point, you're putting me to a point where No, I don't. I'm >> It's not us putting you in this. It's the booze you drink all day. >> Dude, don't put that on me. >> Yeah, >> it's not my fault you're a grown man. >> Absolutely not. Damn hammer drunk. No, I'm not. >> Bro, you're stumbling around and [ __ ] >> You can't. >> You think I was born yesterday? >> Your cell phone. You tried to hand me a hotel key. >> You're [ __ ] hammered, Jack. >> You're hammered. >> See? >> All right. >> You talk to my You talk to my lawyer. >> Listen, you don't want to go that route. If that's how we're going to go, we can go that route. >> We can just arrest you. Okay. >> Officers coordinate with hotel staff and attempt to contact the minor's mother while monitoring the man's behavior. >> Is that what you want? >> No. Please. >> Okay. Then find your >> Get it together. Find your cell phone. >> Be a man, dude. >> Trust me, I'm not letting you go outside. >> Sober up for a minute. >> I'm not letting him go outside. >> I'm going to grab my my my passport. >> Yeah. First off, the other officer has your passport already. So now what we need is your >> wallet. We need your phone. >> We need your phone. >> Then you guys got >> I wonder if [snorts] is the room in Wonder if she had to leave a cell phone. >> Try that. Or I'll send Dar and PD over to >> Are you good for a second? >> Yeah. >> I'll walk down there. >> Such a good one. Mike, did did you uh get a phone number for who rented the room? >> Yeah, she's trying to call her now. >> Okay. All right. >> I'm getting sick of this dude's pissed off. >> You being an [ __ ] still? >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> Where at Bone Brook? >> She's Yes. You just >> She's not in She's not in the cast. >> You said it like five times, man. >> He don't even know. >> She's in Bowling Brook. I told you >> place that I just got kicked out of >> which one in Bowling Brook. Do you know where in Bowling Brook? >> Were you able to uh talk to them? >> Um Espinosa is trying to call. He got the number from staff and is trying to call now. >> Oh god. >> Quit drinking, dude. Look. Like, never [laughter] drink again. You can't handle the booze. Okay. >> Seven. I guess this is one. >> Do you know what street it's on in Bowling Brook? >> Same. >> [screaming] >> That's Darien. >> Yeah, >> officers observe continued intoxication, verbal agitation, and inability to safely care for the minor as arrangements are made for the mother to respond. [crying] >> At this point, something's got Let me just >> lo in my mind. Yeah, let me just send them to >> center cover one. >> He doesn't like you guys around in here. [crying] >> He's He's screaming. He doesn't like this. [screaming] >> I don't He doesn't like this. Come here, Bubba. [crying] >> No. >> Cuz when I walked up here, just let him walk through the parking lot. So, if you thought maybe he's thirsty, maybe he wants some of that drink in his cup. >> Thirsty. >> How would you know that? He's He's holding his club. Pull him in. >> Go there. >> Yeah. >> The 23-year-old man was issued a notice to appear in Will County Court on charges including child endangerment resisting arrest and allegations of battery against police officers. Remember, severe intoxication can impair a person's ability to safely supervise dependent and communicate with authorities. Failure to comply with lawful commands can escalate an encounter and result in additional charges. This is the reaction of netizens to this situation. I'm glad officers focused on getting the minor safe first. That situation seemed chaotic from the start. Body cam really shows how quickly things can spiral. You think the officers were out of options here? Watch what happens next on the body cam and tell us if you would have done the same. The next incident is when [music] police had to pepper spray mother holding three-year-old. >> Oh, come on. They said you stole. What did you >> What did you take? Tell me what you took. And I promise on that I sold nothing. There's like diapers, wipes, and stuff in the something in this. >> What? What are they saying you stole? >> He said I stole I don't even know. He just said he was going to call y'all. >> All right. All right. 57. Was there any description on what was making here? Negative. No description of idle. >> All right, that if you're holding the air, you can release it. >> Nothing, right? >> Yeah. Um, well, we got to talk with them and see. Officers repeatedly instructed the woman to stop, put the minor down, and turn around while attempting to control her movement. >> You stop backing up. Put the kid down. [crying] Put the kid down. Put your arms behind your back now. Put your arms right. Stop. >> Stop. Stop. Turn around. Stop. [crying] >> Stop. Stop. Relax. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. [screaming] Come over here. [crying] Come over here. Stop. Stop. Relax. >> You're okay. You're okay. It's okay. It's okay. [screaming] >> An officer deploys pepper spray and uses physical contact to separate the woman from the minor while placing her under arrest. >> She's fine. She's fine. Please. [screaming] [crying] I cannot stop anything. [screaming] >> I just stop. Let me stop grabbing your daughter. I don't want to get hurt. [screaming] >> I don't want your daughter to get hurt. Stay on the ground. >> Stop. Stop. [screaming] >> Stop grabbing your daughter. Stop. >> Oh my god. What is wrong with her? >> Stop moving. >> Okay. Officers explain their actions to bystanders, stating the spray was used to stop resistance and prevent the minor from being harmed. >> Stop it. >> She's crazy. >> How you know steal from writing? >> I did not spell anything. I was chopping at mom's arm. Let the kid go. Okay. Cuz she was dragging her daughter. >> Okay. Okay. Well, neither is my camera right here, buddy. That's how I tie my clothes. >> This is like knotted really tight. >> Yeah, I know. Because you see you got it though. >> Maybe. So just knotted tight. >> You you putting it as loose. >> What? You worry it's going to fall off, man. [laughter] Well, >> we'll try and get it off. >> Yeah. You got it. You got it. You got it. You want to tie a knot? No. See? Yeah. You see? I was telling her probably be on the news later. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. >> So, you okay, though? >> Do you want your eyes washed out? >> You don't want to? Okay. I'm going to just have my sergeant come over. You make sure you don't >> sound good. Huh? >> No. Do you don't do you want your eyes rinsed out or no? >> Well, it's up to you. >> It was burning a little bit. >> It's up to you if they're good now. I mean, we wouldn't get down there for another 20 minutes, but we can. >> Now, where? >> Oh, we got to go to the eyewash station if you want them rinsed out. But if you don't want to rinse, you have to do the supervisor. Sorry. >> Why am I going to jail? >> No, you're not necessarily going to jail. Might end up. I'm just saying for the for the eyes getting rinsed. If you don't want them rinsed, you you don't want them rinsed. >> Okay. You have to say that to my sergeant, though. >> Okay. >> I'm just an officer. Uh he's a sergeant. >> Okay. So, just hang on one second. >> All right, dear. >> All right. Nice Nikes. >> Thank you, sir. All right. >> You got to understand you stole one of these. >> Yeah. This doesn't help our situation right there. That's all I'm saying. >> You know, it's another day at work, but uh >> So, how's everything at Cleveland Street? Is it all right there? >> Good. >> Yeah. If you did that' be all right here. Really quick and then we'll get you out of here. Figure out the paper. All right. >> Officers state the woman will receive paperwork rather than beheld. And note the minor was not directly sprayed during the incident. >> Again, it's a cool name. >> All right, just slide your leg in. We'll uh work on this. All right. >> The woman was charged with trespassing and issued an appearance ticket, meaning she was not held in custody at that time. Remember running from officers during an investigation can quickly escalate an encounter. Police encounters prioritize scene control and safety when a minor is present. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. That situation escalated fast once she ran. I'm glad officers kept checking on the minor afterward. Body cam footage really shows how tense these moments are. The tension is already high, or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life [music] pause and comment. What you do here. The next incident is when >> and then she just comes over me for literally no reason. When she gets mad, it's just like she just lies all the time about anything and everything she can possibly lie about. I hate every single one of y'all. All I ever do is take from people. >> On September >> On September 6th, 2024, officers responded to a residence after a dispute between two sisters escalates into a physical confrontation prompting a call to police. >> Hey guys. >> Hey guys. >> Not okay. >> All right, ma'am. Yeah, I want to I want to talk to her. >> So, your mom, can you talk to this officer over in the in the front for a moment? >> Is anybody else in the Is it just the kids in the house? Just the two of them? Okay, I'll keep an eye on the window. Can I talk to you in there, ma'am? Is that okay with you? >> My dog in there. My kids are in there. I don't want to swim and think, >> buddy. I got a dog, too. It's okay. >> Can I tell you what happened? >> Cuz you called us, right? >> Okay. What do you What did you call this dog? My sister got mad because I was so at first. She got mad because her friend over and I was telling her what she was saying >> and then she just comes over and missed me. >> Officers separate the parties, confirm both are residents of the home, and begin collecting individual statements. >> Literally no vision. Tell me how you right here. Still hurts. >> See made me fall right there. Like you can't really see it. You need to do this on your face. >> Yeah. >> Hit me. Hit me in the >> I need be specific on how she like did she hit you with her her open hand her fist? >> Yeah. >> Uh which one? Right or left? >> I have no idea. >> Okay. Did after that you hit her back or anything like that? >> I just barely lose back. >> Yeah. Just trying to get away. >> Yeah. >> Do you want to push George? >> I don't really want to go down. >> Real Oh, real quick though, can you raise your right hand for me? Right hand. Stay. With that being said, you swear the following statement is a toothpaste. Awesome. All right. Do you need medical attention? >> No. >> What you guys got? >> Daughters. >> Yep. >> They're fighting 16 18. >> Gotcha. Do you know what led up to? >> I said Emma couldn't come over. She won't quit. She won't quit. She She wanted Emma. Yeah, she wanted Emma to come over. >> The mother explains ongoing tension between the sisters and acknowledges prior conflicts, noting the difficulty of intervening when arguments escalate. >> She got mad at that. And once she gets mad, it's just like So they started fighting the two girls together. >> Okay. >> Right here. And I told him to quit. I can't get in between them cuz I just can't. >> Yeah, I got you. >> But they're sisters. >> Okay. Did one of them, I guess, physically strike the other one? >> Yeah, they were fighting. I don't know what's supposed to happen next. >> Whenever it's physical, it's not usually good. So, we'll have to see what she tells the other officer and we'll see what information she gets. She's probably going to need to write a statement. She's gonna take photos to see if she has any injuries. I guess >> I told her to quit. >> Yep. >> I even went in and asked her. I like you're not gonna hit her no more, are you? You're not gonna hit, are you? >> Yeah. >> And she was like, "Leave me alone. You're you act like you never did no wrong, you know." >> And then it's like, >> we've all been there, done that. >> I'm not going to be getting help. I'm going to tell them, you know, and then I'm like, "Oh, okay." I'm just >> Yeah. >> And they're at that they're at that age. I've been begging her. She don't >> The older sister gives her account stating the argument intensified verbally before turning physical. Officers document statements and observations. >> Want to She's over 18. I can't make her. I sent her to Georgia. She come back here. She's only been back a couple weeks. >> Okay. And the law has been broke this third time. So I don't know what to do. >> We both got physical. She threw her punches and I threw mine. Then she called the law. Stay tonight and then I'll figure out somewhere else to go for the most pain. >> You've been super cool with me so far. I appreciate that. So ma'am, you have the right to remain silent. >> Sometimes too much is too much. And sometimes I'll just let it slide and I've been trying since I moved back here. I'll be out of state. >> I understand. >> Georgia. I came back. I've been here maybe a week, almost a week and a half. Back with my mom and my sister. I tried keeping my cool, haven't got to school with her, not once. Just flipped and I shoved her out of my way. >> Is that how it started when you shoved her out of the way? >> Okay. >> She had my babies. I don't really know. We were just kind of like not the first time it's happened. This is the first time she's actually called the cops, though. And she's always threatened to overly stop her, but she had access to a phone. I'm sorry for all this. >> No, you're fine. It happens. So, more than you'd imagine. It happens. So, >> I'm going to take a picture of your face. Is that okay? >> Officers clarify the sequence of events and determine both parties were involved in the altercation. >> I just got to document the injuries. So, she hit you first, then she grabbed you. >> Yeah. >> So, and where was this? Where did this take place? >> So, she first she hit you. First she hit me and then >> and then she like grabbed my arm and then like pulled me down and started hitting me and then I reached back up and kind of like >> this part hit her >> and everything and then she kept trying to grab me and then I think I might have hit her one more time and then my knives came down here and called >> Was it both you guys kind of like both engaging in the fight? >> First I came out told mom Aubrey was sitting on the Oh >> yeah. second stare. I told her she jumped up and hit me in the face. That's when she grabbed my arm, took me to the ground, started kicking me and like hit me. Then I like came back up like backhanded her. >> Yeah. Like this kind of hit her and then like I started walking back into the house and then she grabbed me again and hit me again. Something like this. Like do you guys usually like have fights like that where it's physical? >> Not that much. >> Mom said that it's she goes to her sisters. >> Yeah. Exactly. Police explain Florida's mandatory arrest policy in domestic related incidents, regardless of whether either party wishes to press charges. >> Exactly. Okay, cool. They do what kids do. >> Exactly. >> Hey, how are you? Give me two seconds. Let me talk to him and then I'll I'll come talk to you. >> Yeah. If you don't mind, just wait out here. We'll step aside for you. >> Yeah. >> All right. Hey, let me talk to you real quick. Can you tell me what happened? Just got tired of her lying on me. Um, she told my mom I said something I didn't say. >> Uhhuh. >> But it's pretty normal. She just lies all the time about anything and everything she can possibly lie about. Whether it's what she wore to school or something that involves me. I don't care what other lies she tells other than when it involves me and it starts something between me and someone else. >> Yeah. >> Shove her out of the way right here at the door >> and then it we both just start fighting. >> You did push her first though. >> You punched her in the face. I >> did not punch her. >> There's a big red mark on her face. >> Did not punch her in the face. Um, I pinned her by the arm and kind of set her down the pitch. >> I mean, you're you're already saying like you punch her and then punching is no words. I just just so I know like you did just punch her, right? >> I did not punch her. >> Okay. Well, then what's the red mark from? >> I don't know. We were both sitting there fighting, but I didn't. >> Okay. >> How long did the fight last? >> Not even 5 minutes did it last. We all broke it up. It's literally it was a few little hits here and there and then once I pinned her to the ground >> and you know she she got back up we both looked at each other and I went and tried to calm down. Then I went over here and she got a hold of the phone. Mom said something about there was no she said she was going to call the police and mom was like there's no need. Nobody was really injured. Didn't get that bad. And then she got a hold of neighbor's phone and called. >> And you live here right now. >> That's what it is. Sucks. Yeah, it does not. >> Yeah, >> I'm going to go ahead and we're just going to ask them all to step inside. >> Yeah, it's pretty simple. Just >> the older sister is informed she will be taken into custody due to being identified as the primary aggressor under state guidelines. >> She told us >> it's a tough situation. I mean, >> it doesn't matter. >> What you say when you ask about the charges? >> No, we don't want to press charges. >> We don't want to press charges. >> Write no right there for prosecution. >> I know the situation sucks. >> How many siblings do you guys have? four or I got. So, unfortunately the situation, I'm just going to be straight up with you because it's domestic. Um, we have no discretion. We have to take you to jail right now. But I know I know. Let me just explain to you. This is not >> But if I would have called the law on her and said she hit me in the face, then she would be in trouble. >> Take your phone. >> Take your phone. Can >> I listen to my mom for her? >> You got to turn around. Turn around. I know. Well, you Well, yeah. Well, you watch your mom. You got to give me your hand behind your back, though. I'm trying to be super cool to you. You've been really cool with us. >> You want me to give your phone to your mom or do you want to take it with you? >> Hey, just so you know, I've met you before. Just so you know, >> your sister does not want to press any charges. She does not want you to be arrested. It's just because of Florida law. >> So, what's going to happen is when they ask her if she wants to press charges or she's going to say no and then you'll be released. >> Yeah, you're going to be released literally in the morning. Officers reassure all parties that the situation is procedural, temporary, and will be reviewed by the court. >> I just want you to know that it's not going to be anything as far as Do you want your son to go with you to go to the property? >> I know it's a lot. >> We we really don't have discretion next. >> It sucks. >> But you're going to be okay. You're literally going to go out the next day. Okay. [laughter] >> You want us to take your phone with you at property? >> No. >> You want to leave here with your mom? >> Do you know your mom's number and everything so when you can call her later? Okay. Hey, I do have It is just also a policy. I have to just make sure you don't have anything on you before I put you in my car. Do you have any any weapons? Any drugs I need to know about before I >> No, I didn't think so. I just want to make sure. I promise you we hate this as much as you do. >> Y'all's job. >> It's our job. >> Y's job. I hate police. I hate every single one of y'all. All I ever do is take from people. Take people's family. >> Oh my gosh. I'm sorry you feel that way. >> I'm sorry you feel that way cuz I've I've taken you places before and I've got a I've got a daughter that's older. So trust me, the last thing that we want we want to do is take you to crazy. >> All right, stop. Don't pull away. All right, we're going to put these shoes on and we're going to walk to my car. Okay, >> got her some flip flops, pick up some slides. >> They said she wants you charges on you. >> Yeah, I told her that. >> And I can get you out after you go to court. Anyway, >> she does. >> Her sister does not want her to go to jail. We explain it to her. >> I want to sit in a jail cell. >> See that paper one? >> Yeah. She didn't press charges on you. So they have to take >> She didn't press charges and she doesn't want to. >> But if I would have called and said that she hit me, she would have been in the wrong. How is it any How is it any different? >> Somebody would have had to go to jail. >> We have to decide who the primary >> whether you call she called >> whoever. Somebody has to go to jail. >> Okay, folks. Just because it's about to rain, we got to start getting too hot. We're all because of the law. >> It's not because we want to do this. The older sister is transported for booking with officers emphasizing the legal process will determine final resolution. >> My farm to make sure you don't have anything on you. And again, we'll try to make this as quick and easy as possible. Someone crazy. You're going to you're going to be in your own cell. What time is this court? >> It's super early, like 7:00 a.m. >> Yeah, because it's early tonight. You'll have to go to court. Yep. >> Okay. >> Hey, I know you're mad and you don't like the police like you said, but I've I've been here and been with you before. I know you're a good kid. But hey, it's just because of the law, we have to take someone. I understand siblings fight and all that. I've got a daughter that's older than you guys. And don't beat yourself up too much. just when you guys can once you get this done with and and pasted you and you get all this stuff squared away just just try to be real careful with you know what I mean with these kind of things cuz Florida law anytime there's anything domestic brother sister mother husband wife anything like that somebody has to go by law automatically and it sucks for us because we don't want to take you we're like they're siblings they fight we all did that we're kids we all we all fight >> the 18-year-old sister was charged with domestic battery under Florida's mandatory arrest statute. The charge was based on officer determination of primary aggressor status at the scene. No charges were pursued by the other sister, but the arrest proceeded due to legal requirements. The case was forwarded to the court for review with expected release following initial proceedings. Remember, domestic disputes can trigger mandatory legal responses even when family members do not want charges filed. Understanding local laws is critical as emotions and momentary decisions can lead to serious consequences. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. It's tough to watch, but the officers explain the law clearly. This shows how important it is to cool down before things get physical. What do you think about these situations? I come in here, she got my wife in the house. >> The father reports finding his wife on the floor being assaulted with visible injuries and the home in disarray. >> Down here beating on her. She's throwing everything on the ground. God, she's breaking everything. >> I just had surgery. >> She just had surgery. >> She has to go. And I went to >> Anyway, they wanted me to get a $300 on section 8. So, if you want me to put some different not [laughter] my name is on the lease. His name is not on the lease. >> You hear what I'm saying? She's throwing everything around on the ground. She calling people to come over here and do something. I'm hearing all of this and trying to make it here and call the police at the same time. >> She waited till I left >> to come back. >> She started packing her things. >> She's lying. You look >> that you not a problem. Don't take anything that you didn't buy. I said, "I need to see what you're packing." I stood right there in that doorway and see all that stuff. She destroyed it. >> The daughter claims she was packing her belongings when the situation escalated, accusing both parents of provoking her. >> They got a shotgun sitting in the living room. >> She sent me a text, right? I'm in the room to sleep. So, they told me that I had to leave, right? So she see me at my you got to and you threatened to your mother. Mind you, I'm in the room on the phone with my friend. I didn't even see the message. >> So I can't stop. So I get up. I start packing. He took the TV and my door off the handles. So I start packing my [ __ ] cuz I just bought food for the house. So I start packing my he gone. She here. It's just me and her and my kids. So I'm packing my So here she come. Oh, you must need help. >> What's What's your relationship? That's my mama and that is her her boyfriend, her husband. >> Both sides describe property destruction involving food, liquids, and household items. Emotions intensify as blame is exchanged. >> Counter, she started packing it up. She noticed when I went to the refrigerator to start putting the things that she bought on the counter, she went, she tried to go around me to the door right there and I stood in the door and I said, "Let's finish one thing at a time." She told me to move. I said, "Don't touch." But if I didn't touch you, I'll touch you. So me out of the way [laughter] to go get the stuff in the back. So when I called my husband and told him I needed him to come back. After I called him and said to come back, she started getting everything that she bought, throwing it on my walls on my floor. So I got the cranberry juice that she bought and So I can do it in the seat. >> Anyways, like I was saying, she was like, "Oh, you must need help." So she start packing. So I start standing there. I'm throwing stuff away cuz I'm like, "You feel me? I'm not going to take everything." So I'm throwing stuff away and she come taking it out the trash. Oh, no. You're going to take everything. So this why I'm irritated cuz now you being funny. You being I call my baby daddy and I'm like, you feel me? I start telling him about the text that she sent me. So I'm like, why she trying me sending a text? They do like that cuz they be trying to prepare ahead of time. All my kids, all my life, my in my bag, I ain't touch that instead sitting there in the mother in the corner be at the top. Why they got that laying out? If I'm the one with my [ __ ] put away, but um and they sitting there lying. So >> So you do have a >> Yes. >> That's what I asked you if you had a gun. >> I said yes. He sitting in my room. No, >> you know, you say is there involved? No, cuz I didn't grab my is literally sitting where it's been for the past few days. So, I started taking the stuff out the bag and I was throwing away. She trying to be funny. So, she started throwing. >> It is alleged that detergent was thrown into a baby's eyes during the altercation, raising immediate child safety concerns. >> Stuff on the floor. >> She opened this. She opened up a can of juice and started pouring in my clothes. So, I'm like, "Oh, so we playing dirty." So, I start grabbing juice and I start throwing away. Why is you like don't play with me. She got dirt dish detergent in my baby's eyes. >> Who else is in the house? >> My brother and her her husband standing right there. >> You don't want to give them the babies cuz you're worked up right now. >> No, I'm not. I do not want them with my kids. No, I don't. So, I start opening stuff and I start pouring it out cuz I'm like, if we're going to play dirty, we're going to play dirty. She got detergent in my baby eyes. So, then she go in my room. She grab my computer, my school computer. I got assignments due today. And she put my in the water. So, I grab it. So she grabbed me right here to keep my phone right here. >> She got her pesto sauce and buffalo sauce and threw it all over. I got the drink that she bought >> and I poured it in her throat. She got mad that I was maxing her in it and punched her in. >> The parents state this is the second violent incident involving their daughter despite prior attempts to help her stabilize. >> So she hit me. This is the aftermath. I don't know who she's called to come over here. She's put her hands on me. She's destroyed the house. She's very disrespectful. I can't take it no more. We've already been through this situation once before. The same thing she put her hands on me. >> That's This the second time. >> First time she jumped her right here. That girl jumped my wife right here. >> We just asked her earlier today. >> Yes. She she I guess she hit my bottom. This is, you see what I'm saying? This is the second time she joked my wife right here. I have it on camera. Beat my wife up. We made her leave. She came back here, begged us to come back. Said she would change. >> She came back and apologized. As a mother, you've apologized. >> I'm sinking. You've hit rock bottom. You have nowhere else to go. You've burned all your bridges. As a mother, I never want to see my children out on the street or through. But at the same time, I can't live. I can't bite my tongue because I don't want to hurt your feelings or get you upset enough to do this. I can't. I just had a surgery. I've bent over backwards to try to help her get her on the right track. We babysit. She pays no bills. >> Where did she dispatch? >> But you did see it. >> I did not see it. No. Since you've moved in, it's costing us $22 a day in electricity. We need you to start pitching in. You just paid $600 for some skinny shop so you can lose some weight. You just paid over $1,000 so you can celebrate your 22nd birthday. We need you to start putting in $300 a month. I ain't giving y'all nothing and I ain't leaving. And she walked off. My wife went in there and talked to her. She said, "Get out of here." She said, "This is my house." So I told her, "Send her a notice that she has to vacate in 30 days." She got mad. She pulled the wife on. I pulled a my wife. My wife called me. I told her, "Don't worry about it. She's not going to do nothing to you." Then my wife calls me. >> Officers separate all parties. Interview witnesses and assess injuries while attempting to deescalate the situation. >> Says, "She's punching me. She's on the phone with me. She took my phone, destroyed my phone. There's blood on my back. I had to run in the house and she bow you to her mother." So I didn't do nothing but I broke him apart. She's like you. And she tried to kick my wife again. I broke it up. She swung and hit my wife again. >> But whose blood is it? >> That's her blood. >> How that get on you? >> Because when I back I was backing her up just >> and my wife was she was she be holding on to me. >> I didn't fight her back. When she started singing I baldled up. You never want to fight with your kids. >> Exactly. That's not even >> She just started throwing stuff all around the house. >> I'm sorry. I'm just real cuz like they just keep playing with me and I swear to God I don't be doing nothing. I do my part and [laughter] it's like they just keep trying me and trying me. So she start my name is Milana. >> Y'all start going tick for tack with the property whatever. >> She started at first on everything. I swear to God. So when she grabbed me I'm like get the off me. So she like let me go let me go. The police is on their way. So I'm like I don't give a So she had grabbed me. She had like pushed me. So I pushed her back and she grabbed me. So, we ended up fighting like don't keep grabbing me. Like, I did not do nothing. They was upset because we're on section. >> Police decide an arrest is necessary and advise the parents to begin formal eviction and protection order processes. >> Are we going to handle it? >> I hope you arrest her. >> She jumped up. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. >> Okay. >> We We We just Y'all are already up here. We brought it down to here. We're going to stay there. She We're going to arrest her. We're waiting for the parent the other parent to pick up the kids. You understand? >> Okay. I'm just saying the last time we went through this. >> Everyone needs to just remain. >> The last time we went through this, we had a black officer show up. The last time we went through this, a black officer showed up and told us and told us, "Well, it's your daughter and I can't prove who who smoke her first, so she nothing's going to happen to her." This is the second time that she jumped my wife. Jumped on my wife. This is our daughter. We did. We told We said we were never going to let her come back in after she beat on my wife the first time. She came back crying with my grandsons. She knows how we feel. Please, I'll come back and I'll stop. How is it wrong that she's been here seven months and all we did was >> Have you started the process to get her evicted? >> We sent her a text. >> We sent her a text saying, "Hey, things aren't working out. This is your 30 days." >> Let me tell you right now, like I said, we are going to take her to jail. We're waiting for the baby father to come pick up the kids. Okay. >> What I'm advising for you guys is she lives here. >> No, not anymore. >> The incident concludes with officers securing the scene and arranging care for the children. >> Don't tell me how she dies. You tell me. Y'all not going to sit here and argue. Everybody will go to jail. I came not I don't want to hear that. You may lower your voice. >> Okay. I lower my voice. >> That's why I came over here. That's why I came here to talk to you. She tell me, okay, this what she telling me they're on section 8 that that she signed section 8 visor for them to continue to have a threebedroom. So she add the kids to the section 8 because to me I was going to say hey. I told her I said hey because they called me. I wouldn't even ever be involved. They would have called me a few months ago. We had a whole thing about the tax this but that doesn't mean none of your business. Okay. So we come to this. Okay. Okay. I said so what are you doing to help yourself? He tell me they going to help yourself. Okay. I said well you supposed to get section 8. >> Okay. She said I'm on a section 8 now so I don't need to move. I said cool. So it shouldn't be a problem if you on if you on the section A that mean the voucher went up so you and the kids can do that mean you can go up. I different know what that mean. So once you do that then okay that that been dealt with. So you don't need to be try to find No. I come today and find they have a whole big argument and I'm telling her, "Hold up. Slow up. Hold up. You got to worry about these children first." >> I told her this is I'm going tell you what happened. See, you know, Milana lies about everything. Kimbo talk, but you can't lie to me. >> We told her, "Melana, we need your help. I'm out dashing every day now because with you being here, it's costing us $22 a day in electricity. I need you to come up with something $300 a month." She said, this is what she said. I ain't giving you nothing and I ain't leaving >> and walked off. >> So did y'all make a agreement how much she should pay you a money? >> We told her she nothing for seven years ago. >> Gave us one penny. >> She's giving us nothing. See what I'm saying? You up here sticking up her. She ain't gave us one penny. >> I've been paying a lot. I've been paying money. But y'all got to pay. You want to know something else you got? She ain't never had to pay uh daycare cuz she lied to you and had you paying the full bill. She been lying about everything, dog. She won't do anything. The only thing, you know what she had to do to stay here? Do dishes every Wednesday and Thursday. Did she do them? That was >> the adult daughter, Milana, was charged with thirdderee cruelty to children after a child was exposed to harmful substances during the altercation. She was also charged with simple battery for physically assaulting her mother. The children were released to their father and no injuries requiring hospitalization were reported. The case is pending court proceedings with officers advising the family to pursue eviction and protective orders. Remember, unresolved family dependency can escalate into violence when boundaries are not enforced early. Children are often the silent victims when adult conflicts spiral out of control. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. This was way beyond a family argument. It turned dangerous fast. They tried helping her for months and still got assaulted. Those kids should never have been in the middle of that chaos. Everyone thought it was too late until the body cam shows the exact [music] second officer step in. Did you predict that rescue? >> Walmart and I had got something to eat. I didn't get I was supposed to get groceries, but I didn't get groceries. >> You said you did. >> Already made the decision. You left knowing that there was no adult to your present to watch her. >> All right, I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. And so when you pulled here and parked, the car was here >> and then you kind of went to sleep, but you didn't see her since then. >> Okay. Okay. >> You're not in trouble or anything like that. I was going to sit there and say we're trying to find out where she's at, why she would leave her two kids behind. >> All right. >> All right, sir. Well, I appreciate it. Thank you. >> Okay. Even though they're at daycare, I only get 30 to 45 minutes of break time. >> Okay. What store did you go to? >> I went to Walmart. Got some gas cuz this one right here closed early. >> Hi. >> Hi. >> That's my auntie. >> Give us one one second. >> I went to the one in Palm Beach. You went to Walmart. >> I got gas. You were at Walmart. >> Yeah. But I got there. Yes. Yes. I had to go get gas. Got there real quick. >> What time? >> I don't know like 10ish. Like close to 11. It It's right there. That's why I said my dad was coming. >> Oh, yeah. Okay. I'm sorry. So the question was even though he wasn't >> even though he bailed on you >> you still >> I needed groceries. I don't have barely any groceries >> when uh we called. Where were you at >> when I called? I was on the highway when my auntie called me. I was on the highway. I went to go to drop off some food at my friend's house cuz he had asked for some food. So, I dropped off some food and I said I was heading home. That's it. >> So, after after McDonald's, you went to go drop off food. >> Yes. And that's it. I >> I have I have a question for you real quick. So, just for clarification purposes, you went to get food at McDonald's. You [music] went to the Walmart to get groceries. >> No, no, I went to go get gas. >> Gas? >> My gas? >> I was already on Eve, so I went to go get some gas. I already planned on getting gas. I just never had gotten gas. I was supposed to get gas yesterday. All right. So, you got gas and then you went to >> I went to Walmart to get >> Did you come back home and drop your groceries off or anything you purchase at Walmart? >> Um, yes. I think I No, no, I did not. I didn't. >> So, so there's no groceries inside your car from Walmart? >> No. No. >> So, you didn't purchase anything from >> Investigating officers probe whether groceries were purchased and confirm children were unsupervised while sick. >> Walmart. >> You said if I purchased anything? I didn't get I was supposed to get groceries, but I didn't get groceries. >> You said you didn't. >> I was supposed to get groceries. Um, but I didn't get groceries cuz I have I have the bag right here. I have the bag right here. >> McDonald's. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I ate my food. So, after you dropped off food at your friend's house, that's when you got a call from us and you started heading back. >> Yes. Mentally, I needed to get out cuz I was already stuck in the house for almost 10 hours. >> Okay. So, 10:40 to 12:40. >> 10:30. I left 10 10. Yeah. So, 10:4. >> So, between 10:00 and 11:00 and then you arrived, but you only arrived because we called you, correct? >> Um, I was already coming back. >> I was already on my way back. I text my I when she called me, I said, "Auntie, I'm already on the way back." I kept the baby gate locked and I made sure everything was secured. I have my cameras. >> There was um supposed to be a Ring camera right there, so that probably would have notified me that y'all was there. >> Did they notify you when we were in there checking? >> No, it didn't. >> No. Okay. The other question I'm going to ask, I see that you're very prepared with everything like that. You said your dad, right, was supposed to come, >> William, >> but then he backed out last second. He's all >> officers explain risks, choking, swallowing, medical needs, and notify mother she will be placed under arrest for child neglect. DCF is alerted. >> Backing out. >> Okay. But then you still decided that you're going to make sure >> Yeah. I I let him know like, "Hey, dad, this is what I'm going to do." >> So, you already made the decision. You left knowing that there was no adult to your present to watch your kids. Correct. >> Yes. But I kind of had to. There was no way I would had to do it in the morning because then it would have been another day going by. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it >> now. Uh, your kids don't have any fevers. They just have the cough. >> Um, yeah. They said she didn't have a fever. >> Okay. So, two days sick, unknown fever, anything like that, but you haven't called and scheduled appointment for that's what I did. That's what I did today. >> So, they they both have an appointment. >> What day? >> Uh, tomorrow. >> Tomorrow. Yes. At what time? >> 9:30. So, yeah, that's what I was supposed to be taking them tomorrow. That's literally it. And I was >> fix the car. I do apologize for this, but you are be placed under arrest for child neglect. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> How long will I be? >> Uh you're going to go to the jail tonight. You can bond out uh in the morning. >> Okay. >> Uh however, DCF will update the kids though. >> Today. >> And how when will I get them back? >> Whenever you go talk to DCF and they'll go do a a study >> u check to make sure that your house is okay. >> Okay. >> Um and they may if your aunt is still here when they get here, >> they may turn the the kids over to her. I mean, I've been in DCF and I'm not a bad mother. >> Mother is taken into custody. Officers secure keys, personal items, and outline next steps. >> Um, and I No, trust me, sweetie. Please don't take this as we think you're a bad mom. It's just, however, that the time frames and everything that we have. >> Yeah, you can take everything you want. You take your phone. You can take your watch. >> Can I talk to my kids, please? >> Uh, I don't want to mess them up right now. Okay. I want them seeing you. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Um, I'm Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> I'll tell you aunts. Okay. She's going to go to jail for child neglect. >> Okay. Okay. >> Hold on, sis. You can listen if you want to. >> Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. Um, >> so she's going to go to jail for child neglect. The fact that you have a a 2-year-old and younger here home alone >> and that she has time between the early morning of daycare to the time starts her work to go and run her errands. She is now using this time knowingly left the kids without an adult present. Okay. Um and the fact that we know who knows what could have happened. They could have got something, swallowed something, choked, whatever. So um Okay. >> Okay. So >> um so DCF is being is has been notified already. Okay. >> Would you be willing to take custody of the kids tonight if the DCF's okay with that? >> Yeah. If you bring them Yes, I can take them home. I can take them. >> Okay. So I'll make sure that we get >> We're at um my dad's house. >> Your dad's house. The dad supposedly she's saying was supposed to watch uh >> No, my dad is her granddad. Her grandfather.
