I got you do you remember what happened do you remember what happened on January 6th 2024 a 24-year-old woman was driving a red 2016 SUV with her 5-year-old daughter beside her Witnesses later described a horrifying scene in which the vehicle traveling at an alarmingly high speed veered off the road and plunged into a waterfill ditch along a local Road just east of an interstate the crash left the child and the Driver injured prompting immediate calls for emergency assistance Good Samaritans at the scene quickly intervened one individual rescued the child from the vehicle while another helped the driver Escape The partially submerged SUV the child visibly in pain complained of injuries to her leg and hip baby please I'm begging uh before you leave can you can you get your info yeah yeah my baby your baby's fine I promise your baby's fine I don't want to pull her up anymore she's completing of extreme hip and leg pain is that my baby is that my baby crying no that's ambulance not my baby crying emergency responders arrived and found the driver crying out in severe pain repeatedly mentioning her inability to move due to injuries in her hip the dark and muddy conditions made the rescue effort even more challenging but responders work swiftly to assist both individuals [Music] hey how is the child come man how's the baby hi my husband got her out of the car she St her leg hurts I was trying to lay her down in the bed how old are you [Music] we're coming 226 we're going to have a 5-year-old Child complaining up leg pain she's on OA Road itself she said her hips really bad we got a female driver complaining of hip pain out the we're going to try to get out the dit standby I'm stuck in a damn car ma'am you want me to do man relax yeah we have help coming okay oh my here oh my God my my my next unit pulling up I'm need some light we're trying to get out of the mud yeah light we can't see s we're trying to get out of the mud she's uh halfway in the mud right now the all right here I'll pull you over ready here we're lock wrist ready I got you we're P me out ma put your phone away so we can get you out of this T give me your phone during the response the driver was highly emotional repeatedly asking about her daughter's condition emergency Personnel reassured her that the child was conscious breathing and being cared for by responders the child who had been seated improperly without a car seat or seat belt was placed in the care of paramedics who evaluated her injuries please just make my phone go ahead bab Daddy I don't care about it he's just worried about my my son my daughter please listen listen your daughter she's she's up there she's breathing she's talking what's your name what's your name my hips please look at me I need you to take can use that without straps all right see CER and I need the phone padding for that you're doing good I know I know I know okay I know lower back and H pain she can feel her toes but it's out ofine she was seat belted in but it's 10 right now but she's also having pain down in this pelv region and it's a little pain to P right now do you feel any way I don't feel I don't feel any [Music] breath able to just peek in the back door spee sh all the kids it was just that one kid oh my God Witnesses confirmed that neither the driver nor the child wore seat belts during the crash responders noted that the driver exhibited signs of intoxication including bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol further investigation revealed that the vehicle had traveled 95 m per hour in a 45 M Zone this excessive speed caused the driver to lose control and failed to stop at a stop sign before the crash yeah she's over there with the SUV hey she's out we got to move quickly she went out on us her can give you an update on her and if she's going to go to the hospital or not in which hospital so that you can if you're able to if you can meet us at the hospital only vehicle I have it's total it's in a ditch it's literally physically in a ditch in water on alha oo Road it is not drivable okay can I here the vehicle's in the water and she's literally being airlifted so I don't think I'm going be this is baby daddy we have their daughter here is is she going to the hospital she probably should she's got a h leg are you able to take her to Lawnwood too or where where is this is their only car might be oh the Children's Hospital well she really doesn't have any any pain per se but the mechanism of injury I didn't see where she was she was already out so the male pulled her out of the vehicle the guy that's over there I haven't been able to talk to him if you want to ask him the male pulled her the kid out first and then the mother I'll come over there in a second so sir can you text my cell phone so I can call you in a few minutes yes sir but the little girl I just like say right the street they're going to assess her to be sure there's no inter internal injuries she literally drove like literally into a ditch there's significant damage hang on one sec okay that yeah the baby yeah car [Applause] seat well she's definely on the floor pass I yes that is correct thank you than are you going to work this yeah yeah okay I got it I was yeah I figured but I should call FHP as soon as I um she's wreaking of alcohol very overwhelming odor the fact the child got injured uh I'm I want to be sure it's done yeah he said the child was on the floor in the passenger seat when he got there yes they're asking us to you good yeah oh it's all I didn't even freaking see that I just that giant um they're asking us to try to get a hold of Dad yeah I talk to Dad this is Dad's car the only car okay he lefts up Oslo the cheats that he's trying to figure out where they're going to take the child first before we figure out if we're going to transport Dad or not okay so we're already working on that on that yeah well he said he's trying to figure out whether he's the kids going to go to Children's Hospital or a local hospital so could be Orlando it could be Lawnwood so uh she is definitely waking of alcohol the driver yeah she was overwhelming odor she was so she was uh punching at the Medics yeah so as soon as I'm done with the crash investigation where's she going the driver they're going to airlift her I believe to Lawnwood okay um but I'm going to pursue uh potential du investigation after I finish the crash what do you need for me I got all their info I just s you the info then then they're good to go got it all right man thank you both individuals were transported to separate hospitals for treatment the child suffering from a fractured left femur was airlifted to a pediatric hospital for surgery the procedure involved inserting Nails bolts and a steel plate to repair the fracture despite the severity of her injuries her condition was deemed non-critical the driver who also sustained injuries was transported to another hospital for a valuation and treatment once we get her out of uh your guys car you guys are going to go I appreciate it if you get a phone call from a random number it's probably us just answer it for us sure just maybe some followup questions as to what you saw yeah there thank you wait everybody Le we once they're out of the way yeah if you just give me a minute I'll get this one out and then you guys can thank you so they will take a pediatric traa okay Patric traa well they're going to evaluate or not to find out um I'm not sure about that and since they don't have another vehicle I don't want to separate mom and kid yes per se but if we need to go get Dad maybe one of you guys can facilitate that I don't know if that's a possib you want us to bring him to the scene not not here but whatever hospital we end up taking yeah it was a local hospital yes it was a local hospital or even la local I'll be D there absolutely but just let me know let me know about the air child or not so they're assessing right now to see if she's be pediatric airlifted okay um if they do she's probably going to go to Orlando or West Palm uh he'd probably be able to give you all the me okay we responded here reference a crash in the ditch uh we get here the there was a 5-year-old involved in the crash uh upon speaking to some witnesses we find out that ultimately the driver was driving too fast didn't have enough time to stop at the stop sign and ended up in the ditch uh Deputy Ru is was first Deputy on scene uh was able to get the 5-year-old out of the car and uh while speaking to the driver could smell an overwhelming odor of alcohol coming off her breath so both the driver and her daughter are going to uh hospitals right now they're being assessed by medical staff to see what hospital that's going to be and uh and then Deputy Ru is going to follow up with the DUI investigation on the driver so thankfully the 5-year-old's okay Mom appears to be okay and they're on their way to the hospital and then uh like I said Deputy Ru is be following up with the DUI investigation how was the talking the five-year-old is obviously a little bit upset uh her only concern was the fact that she didn't want to get a shot so we're trying to make sure that happens and uh get her leg looked at she's complaining of leg pain be the right guy at the right time right spot at the right time but at this point I believe he has all your information you folks are good to go okay I appreciate how do I how do I get say again how do I get to see your it's live right now it's yeah it's live it's live right and Lawnwood so uh what do you want to do about that um I'll make that tricky I mean with the Orlando thing I'm assuming he's going to want to go to the kid not to the mom yeah uh let me make some calls off your yeah right back yep let the dad know it's going to be Auto pal Auto pal right or is where the kids going okay y um now this is a precautionary trauma she's got a broken fever okay but it doesn't appear to be like critical it's not critical okay thank you sir [Applause] uh broken femur that's why they're flying out to honoral Palmer the 5-year-old has a broken femur they said it it's not lifethreatening but it's a significant injury for a 5-year-old okay so and then Mom still she FL okay so as you heard of Deputy Ru is uh the 5-year-old is being flown out to Arnold Palmer in Orlando here in Florida for a broken femur which is a pretty bad injury for five old so we're going to be following up and Deputy ruse is going to be doing his investigation from here so so it's still an active scene they will be going to Arnold Palmer so and you're going to go see the dad right uh yeah I'm going to go to both hospitals and I'll talk to that to you I'll take care of letting D that now following the crash the driver was taken into custody upon her release from the hospital she was charged with driving Under the Influence causing serious bodily injuries and driving Under the Influence with a person under 18 in the vehicle after being booked at a local detention facility she was released on a $55,000 Bond and ordered to appear in court for further legal proceedings this
