On April 20th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a local Meyer after loss prevention reported a shoplifting complaint. >> Well, let's go get the other stuff. >> Some of it's not from here. >> I'm sorry. >> The bag took the bag over. >> That's it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Got work bags and She really needs to press charges over this. >> I don't know. I just got here. You saw when I walked in, right? >> Because I walk out with a car. How many of you did they send over here? >> Um, I don't know. Maybe two >> for this. >> Uh, yeah. It's a crime. >> Now, I had a blanket in the bag that was already mine. Do they need to have that? >> Ma'am, I don't know. We'll figure it out. >> I'm just making sure. Ma'am, do you have another item? If so, >> I have a blanket in my car. >> Was it from here? >> I thought that was the one we were trying to match. I'll pay for it again if it's not. >> Was it? >> Cuz I had one in my car. >> Okay. Was there another one that you pull a tag? >> I didn't pull any tags off anything. >> Okay. All right. >> But I can I'll pay for it again. I don't want to have to have charges. I will pay for it again. Gladly. >> We're past that already. So, they're pursuing charges. It's beyond [snorts] >> for under $100. >> Doesn't matter. It's their call. [sighs] >> Please. >> What's your phone number? >> You know, you printing the training receipt, >> please. >> She says she don't have it. Do you have it or not? >> I have a blanket in my car. Yes. >> Was it from here? Can you cut? Was it from here or not? Cuz I'm starting to lose my patience. >> I was Yes. >> Yes, it was. Okay, let's go get it. >> Can I [snorts] just pay for this? >> She said no. So, you'll get your court date. You can go to court and figure it out. I don't even live in the area. >> All right. Well, you're going to have to make a way over there. I'll let you one. >> Just let me pay for this. >> So, is this the one that you took from you? >> Okay. All right. Just bring it back in with you. >> She says she don't want that. So, it's their >> $200 back. >> Unfortunately, it's it's their call. So, apparently you all already had a >> y'all don't like each other. So, >> I've never been I like I'm not even from the area. Yeah, I did a stupid thing, but I'm not >> I get it. But it's their call. We don't have a choice in it. >> As much as you don't want to deal with it, we don't want to deal with it either. >> It's Sunday. >> If I didn't want to deal with it, I should have done it. >> You're going to arrest me? >> Uh, possibly. >> What? >> That's what happens when a crime is committed. Like, are you do you not know? >> Can you please have >> We know you can. This is under $100. I had a really stupid I won't come back to your store. Please. This is within your ability. >> Um, >> it's under >> he got his notary stuff. Do you want a transport or you want an NCA? >> Can I just pay for [snorts] this? I won't come back. >> I'll do the booking sheet and I'll do the photos >> and send it in to him, >> please. >> All right, ma'am. It's not happening. Set that down, please. And we got to take care of some other stuff. >> We don't have all day to deal with this. >> Um, can you stand over here for me? >> Ma'am. Ma'am, can you stand here for me >> and just look straight ahead, please? Uh, you got to remove your glass off top of your head. >> Good grief. >> Great idea. >> Okay. And then can you turn and face that way? >> And then the other side, please. >> Okay. You can go ahead and have a seat. >> No, you're being trespassed. >> You can't come back to the property. So if you come back, what what happens is they have cameras. So whether they stop you at that time or if they are able to provide proof test that you were here after being trespassed, then it's it's it's grounds for another arrest. What's going to happen is this. Um you're going to be spared the embarrassment of having to be taken out of here in handcuffs. So you're going to be given an NTA. All right. It's notice to appear and that >> you're going to press charges on top of the trespassing. >> Absolutely. Like I said, this could be much worse than we can call for a transportation van and we can lock you out of here in handcuffs and then you have to go. Listen to me. Stop. >> Stop. >> All right. >> I'm sorry. >> I'm doing you the favor of not having to take you all the way to the police department. All right. >> Mhm. >> So, what's going to happen is you're going to be given paperwork. It's going to have your court date on there. You have to go to court that date. All right. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> If you don't go to court that day, then there's going to be another warrant put out for your arrest. >> All right. That's it. It's completely up to them. They're pursuing charges. Said and done. Nothing's going to change it. All right. >> It is up to them. >> Exactly. >> How much was the total? Can I pay for it? >> No. >> Can I know what the total was? >> As soon as we find out how much this blanket is. All right. Let's go outside. We got to give you one uh piece of uh paperwork that's going to have your court date on it, and then you guys got to leave. Yeah, >> just let's walk over here, guys. So, essentially, I mean, um I think it's pretty self-explanatory. Just make sure you guys don't come back here. Um and then I'm going to give you the paperwork. It's going to have your court date on it. Uh it's going to be the 22nd of May at 9:00 at the at the uh DuPage County Courthouse. If you um you know, like you said, mentioned something earlier about possibly paying a fine or something along those lines. I don't know how that works. You'd have to talk to somebody at the courthouse first >> to see uh see if they if they if they'd allow that. Um have you ever been arrested before for this? >> Okay. >> I don't even have a >> All right. Well, I mean, if that's the case, they may be able to work something out. um you may just have to pay a fine. Um or I know that they can arrange something like that once you go to court. So if you're like a first- time offender and you don't want it on your record, um they do arrange >> of the what? Uh, >> she told us baby. >> Yeah, we we've got a copy of party. >> So, um, yeah, that's pretty much it. It was either that or a lot of times, typically in these situations, we, uh, we go ahead and just, um, you know, we'd have to call a trans transportation ban out here. You get arrested. Um, well, you are arrested technically, but we'd put handcuffs on you, you'd have to walk out of the store like that, search you, you'd have to go to the police department, do the booking and all that nonsense. So, um, just take it as a lesson learned. Okay. >> Well, I mean, it's not like you shot somebody, but I would hope that you learn from it. So, The total was 87 something. I whatever it was >> biggest thing now is like I said just make sure that you don't come back here cuz >> we're not going to as you can see she she takes your job >> very seriously. So that being said >> and that's what >> I understand that but just just so you know if >> if they end up um you know seeing that you guys came I guarantee they'll call us and then we're going to have to take another report for trespassing. So just make sure you don't come back here. Okay. the court date and everything else is on there. Any other questions? >> All right, you guys are good to go.
