That's the felony, my man. >> Officers later located the siblings' vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. During an inventory search, they recovered two handguns, suspected narcotics, counterfeit checks, a tampered social security card, and altered temporary license plates. Because the shoplifting involved the use of force against an officer, the theft was elevated to a robbery charge. The brother was charged with assault, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and theft. He pled guilty to attempted robbery, a fourth-degree felony, and assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 2 years of community control with a GPS ankle monitor. The sister was later apprehended and charged with attempted robbery, identity fraud, forgery, theft, and resisting arrest. She pled guilty to all counts and was sentenced to 18 months of community control with placement in a community-based correctional facility residential program. She violated the terms of her probation within 3 months.
