Robert was acting like he was going to beat the hell out of him. Well, not beat the you tell him what happened not beat the hell out of Well, he told me he told me he took him. He's a bad He told me he took him to the ground cuz he was worried he was going to injure himself. Yeah. Is that what happened? He's just acting belligerent just he's just he's wanting attention. He's wanting attention. That's all it is. And I'm not going to give it to him like this. This is not the way to go about it. This is not it. Hey everyone, it's Trent, Prior Deputy Sheriff, Patrol Sergeant, and K-9 handler. In certain states, it is actually legal for a parent or guardian to provide alcohol to a minor as long as they are in the privacy of their own home. However, even in those states or areas, it could still potentially be illegal for a minor to be intoxicated or be in possession of alcohol if there are other circumstances leading to an issue. So, this incident took place in the state of Georgia where that law actually does not exist. But even if it did, these officers are obviously within their legal authority to enter into the script garage or inside the residence because they were called there to begin with for a family disturbance. And as we see in the video and here in the video, these officers hear a verbal argument upon their approach. So, they are legally within their right to make entry to check the welfare and to see what's going on. So, this kid, as we hear, did not commit any additional crimes. there was no battery, domestic violence, vandalism, anything like that. However, he did make remarks that he was going to harm himself, probably because he was super drunk. And if nothing else, these officers did need to intervene for not only his safety, but the safety of his stepdad and his mom because of his level of intoxication. And that's why they decided to arrest him for these very minimal charges and transport him to likely what ended up being juvenile hall because he is under the age of 18. And more than likely, you're going to need to take this a step further when you are the investigating officer and notify child protective services or the department of family services because he is still technically a minor. Even though in my experience, which I do have a lot of with child protective services, they don't care as much and it doesn't hold nearly as much weight if somebody is almost 18 years old. That's just how it goes. That being said, you still need to notify the appropriate entity so that they can investigate it a little bit further to see how this kid got the alcohol that led him to being intoxicated. Was he with his biological father when this initial incident transpired? Because all these things are going to need to be notated when it does eventually go to court. And that's going to be it for this one. See you guys in the next one. He was charged with obstruction, underage consumption of alcohol, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and public drunkenness. [Music]
