on this episode of State boyss we check in with a l Police Department where three unconscious people in a vehicle turn into a very hostile situation at a local gas station it goes from life being saved to a sleep of serious charges what with LPD F get out the truck boys on the highway do the let boys don't play Boys on theate make is good TS up the stys on the [Music] highway seat Bel State boys body the count footage from your Louisiana State Police multiple Sheriff officers and City police laia Louisiana on July 12th 20122 the Lavette Police Department gets a call that three people in a vehicle outside of a racetrack gas station or in a drug inducing country State the officers and First Responders arrived to the scene and made contact with the driver 40-year-old Jerel Hughes and his two passengers to help render Aid good stuff this morning oh [ __ ] hey get the N thing the cars off you got the keys no I don't I didn't reach in there I didn't know what was but more in the back that run license plates and it sends us hits so as I'm turning I get a hit boom stolen vehicle I'm like oh well they're lucky they that's wild cuz they gave us a look I looked like after giving Jilla dose of noran he is still unconscious the First Responders continue to render aid but the situation starts to escalate oh get it one more time hey Logan they're gonna do a second dark can on I mean driver why did he why did he do that when I don't know what why did he did he have warrants or why did he flee I mean we weren't going to do anything no but it's the way y'all was handing them and was saying that all three of y'all were in the truck P out unresponsive so the fire department and Acadian got here they started treating y'all the driver woke up freaked out put the uh turned the truck on put it in drive and then backed up into my car pulled forward hit a Cadian unit backed up into my car again I don't know what he has against my car uh put it in drive hit somebody else's truck threw you out of the truck left and they got him stopped way down the 3way right now also he had a stolen gun yeah well that's what happened that's where we're at Dam how long you been knowing that guy I've been knowing all my life what's his name jel H Jerel Hughes would hit two vehicles in his Pursuit and he was arrested and charged with two accounts of hidden run resisting an officer battery of a police officer simple criminal damage to property aggravated flight from an officer illegal possession of a stolen firearm attempting to disarm a peace officer and possession of a firearm by convicted felon jel Hughes would plead guilty to being a convicted fell in possession of a firearm and he was sentenced to 126 months in federal prison have [Music] stop me from doing my work huh I was trying to not let him shoot him about to shoot tried to stop him if you would have hit somebody though that would have been [Applause] different I'm not stuff right oh yeah the guy uh the passenger said he was doing heroin and the driver had a stolen gun we found two guns in the car he had a stolen gun they doing heroin you overdosed on some that was probably Lac with f you your uncle both um from my understanding is you were unresponsive like you were you were dead uh are dying uh once we got to the scene they use Naran on you twice I think uh in order to bring you back um you had two guns in that vehicle one of which was stolen so you did get charged with these possession of a stolen firearm uh we took the guns out of the vehicle before you woke up once you woke up you got your keys out of the pocket put them in ignition of the truck where telling you to stop get out had you taser Point all this other stuff you go to back out you ram a police car there's a ambulance in front of you you drive forward you ran that you go back and forth between those Vehicles a couple times till you make a enough of a wedge and you end up hitting I think you hit your uncle with the truck who was in the passenger seat then we tased you multiple times uh you hit a police officer with your truck and Drug them a good while and you also attempted to disarm a police officer once he had you at gunpoint yeah man gun oh yeah we kept tasing and you about to run some people over we drew down a pistol and then you tried to take the pistol from him what yeah or without a doubt man yall could have kill me IED to take yeah so two counts of Hit and Run possession of was stolen firearm possession of a firearm by a convicted felon attempted disarming of a police officer then you got your criminal damage the property and your aggravated flight for the uh vehicle Pursuit you're going like 100 Mil hour down Johnson Street you went all the way to Maurice so you went from the racetrack on the threeway all the way to Maes and then you came back and he crashed out of Walgreens on Johnson East brussard you pretty sure you were thrown from the vehicle if I remember I don't you might have just hopped out but the vehicle rolled your truck's total it rolled on its side and everything else in the ditch uh I talked to him while he's at the hospital he's getting checked out at the hospital
