Latino Advisory Council: Building Trust, Bridging the Gap

The Portland Police Bureau's Latino Advisory Council (or LAC) brings community members and PPB together to share experiences, raise concerns, build understanding, and work toward safer communities. In this video, members of the council talk about why they joined, the challenges they've seen in their communities, and why creating a space for honest conversation matters. LAC launched in 2020 and works with PPB on matters of policy, public safety, and decision-making. The council provides recommentations informed by the lived experiences of members of Portland's Latino community.
