Title
Principal's Career Ends In 15 Minutes After One Bad Decision
Description
On December 29, 2024, Rebecca Salomon — a 52-year-old associate principal at Cumberland Elementary School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin — was celebrating her wedding anniversary at Lucky Shots bar in West Bend with her husband. She drank three margaritas. She felt OK to drive. She got behind the wheel. She ran a stop sign at 47 mph. She crashed into Dave Cournia's Chevy Impala. He was a Marine veteran driving to work on a quiet county road. He was found unconscious, slumped over his steering wheel. He died five days later from head and brain injuries. His widow told the court: "He was robbed of a chance to say goodbye. Those final memories of a bloody, broken man with only half of his skull will be forever etched in my brain." Salomon was sentenced to 6 years in prison. The judge ordered her to speak at schools about the dangers of impaired driving. A principal. Teaching one final lesson. From behind bars. ⚠️ All footage from Washington County Sheriff's Office. ⚠️ Disclaimer: This video is produced for educational and documentary purposes only.
