Traffic stop Honda Accord - Driver takes off & crashes into THREE cars and a HOUSE! #pursuit #police
Description
Trooper's Narrative:
On Sunday, April 23, 2023, at approximately 7:57 PM, I made a traffic stop on a blue Honda Accord with AR license plate
AMA17J for speeding on U.S. Highway 82 at Bodcau Creek. The vehicle pulled over at U.S. Highway 82 just east of Lafayette
32. I talked to the driver, who was later identified as Preston Hilliard, and told him why I pulled him over. As I was talking to Mr.
Hilliard, he appeared nervous, and his heart was beating out of his chest. I asked Mr. Hilliard if he had been in any trouble
before. Mr. Hilliard stated that he had previous drug charges in California and charges in Texas. I went back to my vehicle and
ran Mr. Hilliard through ACIC and saw he had multiple felony drugs and firearms charges. I went back to the vehicle and asked
Mr. Hilliard to step out. Mr. Hilliard then put the vehicle in drive and took off.
I then ran to my vehicle and started pursuing Mr.
Hilliard. Mr. Hilliard was heading westbound on U.S Highway 82 at speeds reaching up to 114 mph. Mr. Hilliard then turned
around in the middle of U.S. Highway 82 just west of 6th St. and started heading eastbound. Mr. Hilliard then made a left turn
onto 6th. St. and went into the ditch before getting back on 6th. St. Mr. Hilliard kept traveling west on 6th. St. with speeds
reaching 105 mph. Mr. Hilliard was also driving in the eastbound lane on 6th. St. Mr. Hilliard never slowed down and ran
through multiple stop signs at 6th. Street and North Maple Street, 6th Street and Spruce Street, 6th Street and Chestnut Street,
6th Street and Cherry Street, and 6th Street and North Murphy Street, before crashing into three vehicles and a house. The
collision occurred at 521 North Murphy Street.
Mr. Hilliard got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Mr. Hillard ran south and went into a residence at 409 N Murphy St. in
Lewisville. Deputy Patrick Morrison and Stamps Police Officer Codi Ham were able to take Mr. Hilliard into custody inside that
residence. I read Mr. Hilliard his Miranda Rights, and he stated he understood them. Mr. Hilliard agreed to talk and kept
apologizing for what he did. Mr. Hillard was transported to the Lafayette County Jail by Lewisville Officer Terry Darden.
Mr.
Hilliard was charged with (5-54-125) Fleeing- Vehicle or Conveyance- Substantial Danger or Death, (5-73-103) Possession of
