Vehicle veers off highway, onto beach (3/20/19)

Yesterday (3/20/19), four children were hit by an out-of-control vehicle that veered off A1A and onto the beach in Ormond-by-the-Sea. The good news is everyone survived and is going to be OK. The body-camera video shows how brave these kids were, even after what had to be one of the scariest experiences of their lives. Sr. Deputy Sturrup wrote the following message: "Children do not fully understand what is going on during situations such as these. This is why you have to gently walk them through everything so they are not scared and feel safe. They were all so brave and listened to every instruction. I'm so proud of them and their parents for remaining calm. I am glad I was able to help calm them and give them courage. Medical staff did an amazing job getting everyone treated so quickly. Most importantly, I am glad they are all OK."
