Title
High Speed Pursuit of STOLEN Porsche Cayenne - PIT / TVI Maneuver ends chase, driver caught in woods
Description
Trooper Williams' Report:
On 7/15/23 at approximately 2200 hours, Little Rock PD requested the assistance of the Arkansas State Police with a pursuit of
a stolen Porsche Cayenne bearing AR LPN WRECCE1 in the area of Baseline Rd and Stagecoach Rd. Little Rock PD advised
that the vehicle was being driven by a black male wearing a red hoodie. I responded to the area and met the pursuit coming my
way at the intersection of Stagecoach Rd and Baseline Rd.
As the pursuit approached Interstate 430, I took primary of the
pursuit and immediately attempted a TVI on the vehicle. Due to the slow speeds of 40 mph and the heavier SUV being an all
wheel drive vehicle, the TVI was unsuccessful. As the vehicle began to get onto the ramp to I-430, I performed another TVI,
causing the vehicle to rotate sideways in the roadway. The vehicle was once again able to recover and continue down the
ramp. At this time, I used my vehicle to force the suspect vehicle off of the roadway. The vehicle drove through the grass and
entered I-430 where it came to a stop in the inside lane. The driver and two passengers fled from the vehicle, east across I-430
and into the wooded area.
I was able to catch up to the driver, a black male in a red hoodie, just inside the wood line and was
able to take him into custody without further issue. While searching the edge of the roadway near the wood line, I located a
Glock 34 handgun with extended magazine. The serial number (BVVS292) was checked through ACIC and returned stolen out
of the ATF. The handgun was also modified with a "switch", making it capable of fully automatic rate of fire. The driver and
handgun were both turned over to Little Rock PD. The two passengers were not located.
