Killer Grandma Throws Her 2-Year-Old Granddaughter Off Mall Walkway—Then Confesses Why
Description
# Killer Grandma Throws Her 2-Year-Old Granddaughter Off Mall Walkway—Then Confesses Why On November 29, 2010, a family outing to Tysons Corner Center in Fairfax County, Virginia, ended in an unimaginable tragedy when 2-year-old Angelyn Ogdoc was thrown from a sixth-level mall walkway by her grandmother, Carmela dela Rosa. Angelyn was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but tragically died from her injuries approximately nine hours later. Within hours, Fairfax County detectives brought Carmela in for questioning. She admitted throwing her granddaughter over the railing, but investigators needed to understand **why she did it and whether she intended to kill the child.** As detectives questioned her about family tensions, her mental health, and her feelings toward Angelyn's father, the interrogation reached a chilling moment. When asked whether she wanted Angelyn gone permanently, Carmela answered, **"Yes."** In this episode of **Evidence Lab Interrogation**, we examine Carmela's police interrogation, her disturbing admissions, the detectives' questioning strategies, and the investigation that ultimately led to her conviction. ### VERDICT AND SENTENCING On October 6, 2011, a jury rejected Carmela's insanity defense and convicted her of first-degree murder. On January 6, 2012, she was sentenced to **35 years in prison**. ### IN MEMORY OF ANGELYN OGDOC 🕊️ Angelyn was only two years old, with her entire life ahead of her. Her tragic death reminds us of the preciousness of every child's life. May her memory never be forgotten. ### ABOUT EVIDENCE LAB INTERROGATION Evidence Lab Interrogation presents authentic police interviews, original narration, independent case research, and investigative commentary to examine real criminal cases, detective strategies, and legal outcomes. **Subscribe to Evidence Lab Interrogation** for real police interrogations, criminal investigations, and evidence-based true-crime documentaries. ### DISCLAIMER This documentary is presented for educational, news-reporting, commentary, and public-interest purposes.
