On October 3, 2024, Arkansas State Trooper Trey Fales attempted to stop a motorcyclist racing down the interstate at over 100 MPH. What followed was a high-speed game of cat and mouse, as the rider – dubbed a real-life 'Ghost Rider' – pushed speeds up to 175 MPH, easily outpacing the patrol cruiser, which topped out around 130 MPH.
The pursuit began when Trooper Fales clocked the biker speeding past on the interstate. After radioing ahead, another trooper waited in the median further down the highway, ready to intercept. However, when the biker spotted the officer's flashing lights, they downshifted into 5th gear and took off, blasting through traffic.
Heavy traffic slowed the rider down briefly, but their sheer speed allowed them to disappear into the distance. Trooper Fales continued the pursuit, unwilling to give up, but the motorcycle's top-end speed proved unbeatable. After several evasive maneuvers and extreme speeds, the biker ultimately escaped.
This pursuit showcases the staggering speeds motorcycles can reach and the challenges officers face when pursuing high-performance vehicles.
