Title
Pinellas County Active Assailant Exercise - July 30th, 2025
Description
"If it does happen here in Pinellas County, we're going to be as prepared as we can be." - Sheriff Bob Gualtieri On July 30th, we conducted our fourth Mass Casualty Active Assailant Exercise, bringing together every police, fire, and EMS agency in Pinellas County for comprehensive training. Our goal is to make these scenarios as realistic as possible, ensuring our responders are prepared for any situation they might face. The exercise features intense, dynamic scenarios with unexpected elements that challenge our first responders while they work to neutralize threats. But neutralizing the threat is only the beginning, what happens next is equally critical. That's why we've incorporated reunification training into our exercises, focusing on getting victims the medical treatment they need and reuniting families with their loved ones as quickly and safely as possible. This training ensures our responders are prepared for both the immediate response and the crucial steps that follow in the aftermath. Thank you to our entire first responder family and the dedicated volunteers who made this vital training exercise possible.
