Title
Car Seat & Booster Safety: What Every Parent Needs to Know
Description
Car seats and booster seats save lives. 🚗
Most kids don’t fit adult seat belts until 8–12 years old. Keep your child in their car seat or booster as long as possible—it offers better protection than the “next stage.”
✅ Harness seats: Use until your child exceeds the weight/height limit.
✅ Boosters: Lift kids up so belts fit across the shoulder and hips, not the neck or belly.
✅ Back seat: Safest place until at least age 13.
Every step we take prevents injuries that are often completely preventable. Get your seat checked—contact OHSU Doernbecher or find a local event.
