Child recovered: 6/1/23

This morning, deputies responded to assist the Holly Hill Police Department on a report of a stolen vehicle with a 2-year-old child inside. After about half an hour, a witness outside a Holly Hill auto body shop called 911 after finding the child alone in the parking lot. Deputies reunited the boy with his family in good health. The suspect was last seen driving east on 2nd Street towards Ridgewood Avenue. The vehicle is a red Volkswagen Tiguan bearing Florida license plate AJ7-9FA. The suspect is believed to be a young male between the ages of 15-20 years old wearing a black hoodie with red lettering on the front, black shorts, and a white hat. Anyone with information is asked to contact Holly Hill PD Sgt, Tom Bentley at 386-248-9478. A big THANK YOU to Holly Hill PD, Daytona Beach Police Department, Ormond Beach Police Department, and Seminole County Sheriff's Office Alert One for all the teamwork and coordination on this call!
