Description
"I was writing tickets in the daytime, to try to avoid going to MAIT calls at night." Nobody likes a ticket but deputies have seen first hand the consequences of getting too loose with the rules of the road. They hope that by pulling you over and issuing you either a warning or a citation, you'll think a little more about driving carefully - to save your own life. Deputy Chuck Skipper spent a good chunk of his career both in the traffic unit and the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Now in the Crime Prevention and Community Awareness Unit, he looks back on this time as traffic homicide prevention during the day to keep from having MAIT call outs a night.
