Chief Bob Day Thanks Portland’s Emergency Dispatchers | NPSTW 2025

This week, we honor the voices who answer every call, no matter the hour, no matter the emergency. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 13–19, 2025) is a time to recognize the dedicated professionals at the Bureau of Emergency Communications (BOEC), who work 24/7 to serve the Portland community. From wildfires and storms to the everyday crises no one ever plans for, these unsung heroes are calm in the chaos and lifelines in the dark. Chief Bob Day shares his gratitude in this video tribute to the call takers and dispatchers who are always there when it matters most. Thank you for your partnership, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to public safety. #NPSTW2025 #ThankYouBOEC #PublicSafetyTelecommunicatorsWeek #PortlandPolice #BehindTheHeadset
