Is your teen ready to take the Teen Driver Challenge?

Is your teen ready to take the Teen Driver Challenge? The Teen Driver Challenge is a free program for teen drivers that teaches the rules of the road and the consequences of distracted driving. The challenge includes a classroom based education component and a practical driving segment. Teens learn defensive driving techniques through exercises including: evasive maneuvers, backing, and serpentines. Students are also taught basic vehicle maintenance and about sharing the road safely with large vehicles. Teens are required to have either a license or permit with at least six months of regular driving experience – this challenge does not replace traditional drivers education courses. Students need to be comfortable with driving for this challenge. This program is offered at no cost thanks to PCSO, Florida Sheriffs Association, and State Farm Insurance.
