Title
Shoplifter's Brilliant Escape Plan Ends in Gator Infested Waters
Description
According to court documents, on June 23, 2025, officers were on routine patrol when they spotted a woman who was wanted for questioning in two shoplifting cases. Walmart said the woman took $223 of merchandise on April 4th, and then on June 23rd, Target said the woman had walked past all points of sale with a cart full of items ($511 worth). As the police questioned her about these events, she would end up running and jump into a nearby canal. After a pursuit that included an officer jumping into the water, she would be caught.
