Description On October 2, 2026, Arkansas State Police Corporal Jeff Richardson observed a white U-Haul traveling southbound at 61 MPH in a posted 45-MPH zone. After the trooper turned around to catch up, the driver slowed briefly before continuing southbound. The situation quickly escalated when the U-Haul began swerving within and outside the lanes of travel. After emergency lights and siren were activated, the driver continued accelerating, eventually reaching approximately 64 MPH. Corporal Richardson attempted a tactical vehicle intervention, but the first attempt was unsuccessful. A second intervention was then conducted, resulting in the vehicles becoming interlocked. The U-Haul subsequently struck a mailbox and curb before the vehicles separated. The pursuit then entered a more dangerous stage, with the U-Haul leaving the roadway and the driver exiting the vehicle. Officers responded while the investigation continued. The report also documents suspected impairment, field sobriety testing, and a refusal to provide chemical-test evidence.
