Title
Help Requested to stop drunk driver - Arkansas State Police move in and PIT DWI Trail Blazer
Description
Trooper's Narrative:
On 4/13/2023 at approximately 11:51 AM, Troop A Communications informed the on-duty supervisor, Sergeant McAllister that
Saline County deputies were in pursuit on Highway 167 at Arch Street, and they were chasing a blue Chevy Trail Blazer
bearing license plate ALR43T. Saline County also advised they were traveling approximately 50 MPH and they believed the
driver was impaired. I Trooper Killian was close to Interstate 530 South when the call came out and was informed by Sergeant
McAllister to go towards 167 along with Trooper Williams, after we were requested by Saline County. I then initiated my lights
and sirens to get into position to assist.
I took exit 10 after Saline County advised they were taking interstate 530 North. After taking exit 10, Trooper Williams advised
that he had spike strips set up at the Bingham exit. After a successful deployment of the spike strips, I Trooper Killian
positioned my patrol vehicle behind the Chevy Trail Blazer. The vehicle was still failing to yield so I positioned the left portion of
my pit bumper along the right rear fender of his vehicle. I then conducted a Tactical vehicle intervention causing the vehicle to
rotate towards the right. While rotating the suspect vehicles front bumper struck my passenger side doors leaving minor
damage.
