Your Brain is Literally Hiding Things From You 🤯 #floridasheriff #motorcyclesafety
Description
Your brain is literally hiding things from you. It's called saccadic masking and it can be really dangerous on the road. After 30 years with the Tampa Police Department, including 10 with their Motor Unit, Deputy Roy Paz is now a PCSO Bailiff. But he's not done sharing what he knows about staying safe on two wheels. When you move your eyes quickly, like scanning left to right, your brain skips over visual information to keep things looking smooth. Everything looks clear to you, but your brain is filling in gaps that aren't really there. Those gaps create blind spots, and a motorcycle can disappear right into one of them. This is why it's so important to look slowly before entering a roadway or making a left turn. Look close, look in the middle, and look far. It could save a life.
