Title
Fleeing Tahoe is intercepted by Arkansas State Police - PIT / TVI (Tactical Vehicle Intervention)
Description
Trooper's Report:
On 7-17-23, at approximately 10:28 A.M., I overheard radio traffic of Marion Police Officer John Dexter in a vehicle pursuit on
Military Road headed towards Mound City Road with a black Chevrolet Tahoe. I was able to respond and intercept the vehicle
pursuit on Interstate 40 eastbound at the 282-mile marker where the suspect vehicle entered the interstate. I radioed to Officer
Dexter that I would assume a primary position in the pursuit and hold traffic off of me so that I could perform a Tactical Vehicle
Intervention (T.V.I.). When the black Tahoe (AR ACS67X) entered the interstate, the suspect quickly began driving at speeds
more than 100 miles per hour with other motorists present. Once we got around the traffic that was present, I positioned my
patrol vehicle for a T.V.I. to disable the suspect vehicle. I performed a T.V.I. by using the front left of my patrol vehicle to push
the right rear of the suspect vehicle. This caused the suspect vehicle to rotate in a clockwise motion, striking the outside
concrete wall. The vehicle then traveled back across the interstate and struck the concrete center divider, bringing it to a stop.
The driver, identified as Thomas Bradley, was taken into custody without incident. A check of the tag of the vehicle showed that
it was expired. Bradley also showed to have a suspended driver’s license. Bradley was transported to the Crittenden County
Detention Center where EMS met us to evaluate Bradley. Bradley had turned pale white and was very clammy. I suggested to
the EMS crew that he might have eaten narcotics. Bradley was given a dose of Narcan and he then woke up. Bradley was
transported to the Baptist Crittenden Hospital in West Memphis where he could be evaluated. A Marion Police Officer stayed
with Bradley the entire time.
The vehicle was inventoried and then towed by A-1 Towing for safekeeping.
ASP Charges:
Owner Failure to Register Vehicle,
Driving on Suspended License,
Speeding More than 15 Over,
Reckless Driving 1st,
Fleeing (Felony).
