SPLASH! 🌊 Nissan Sentra full of "party drugs" flees Arkansas State Police & runs into pond #pursuit
Description
On June 6th, 2026, I, Trp. Reagan Eades, attempted to stop a black Nissan Sentra (LPN: TEXAS WGR5803) for continually
driving in the left lane. I activated my emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Yakiiya Brown,
came to a stop at the 38-mile marker.
As I made my passenger-side approach, I observed the passenger, later identified as Devuntra Sanders, not wearing a
seatbelt. While waiting for the driver to roll down the window, I saw she was attempting to manipulate the gear shift of the
vehicle. I knocked on the passenger side window, and that is when the driver fled the traffic stop.
When I returned to my unit, I advised dispatch that I was in pursuit of that vehicle and activated my siren. The driver continued
on Interstate 530 southbound, passing exit 39. The driver travelled south at speeds of up to 110 miles per hour. While
approaching the 41-mile marker, the driver passed two (2) vehicles on the right shoulder before taking exit 41. The driver
turned to travel west on Old Warren Road before immediately turning to travel south onto Bobo Road. The driver continued
south on Bobo Road before driving through a yard. The driver lost control of the vehicle in a sharp curve on Bobo Rd causing
the vehicle to cross the yard of a residence, missing the structure. The vehicle came to a stop in a private pond. Both Ms.
Brown and Mr. Sanders attempted to continue to flee on foot in the pond before giving up. Ms. Brown and Mr. Sanders were
quickly apprehended without incident.
I escorted the driver, Ms. Brown, to the rear of my patrol unit. I mirandized her and asked why she ran; she responded with, “I
was scared.” While conducting a search of the passenger, Mr. Sanders’ person, I located a small baggie of marijuana
(schedule VI controlled substance) in his right pocket along with $920 in cash. Upon another trooper's arrival, I escorted Mr.
Sanders to the rear of his patrol unit. When placed in the rear of that patrol unit, I asked Mr. Sanders how much more weed
was in the vehicle he advised about a pound. Foster’s Towing was called to remove the vehicle. Once removed from the water,
an administrative inventory was completed.
During the inventory, I located another small baggie of marijuana between the passenger seat and the center console. I located
two bottles of promethazine-codeine (schedule III-controlled substance) in the driver’s side door. In the backseat, I located a
black and white duffle bag, in the duffle bag, I located two (2) gallon-sized Ziploc bags of marijuana. Also in the back seat, I
located a multi-colored backpack containing three (3) pill bottles containing three different pills. After further investigation, the
pills were identified to be Adderall XR 30mg, Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine 20mg, and Amphetamine and
Dextroamphetamine 30mg (all three are Schedule II controlled substances).
Both Ms. Brown and Mr. Sanders were transported to Troop E Headquarters to speak with an ASP Co. B CID special agent,
but both refused to speak with him. I transported Ms. Brown and Mr. Sanders to the Jefferson County Detention Center to be
charged with the following:
Ms. Brown:
