Title
HIGH SPEED PURSUIT: Female suspect crashes & goes AIRBORNE AT 140MPH! - Arkansas State Police
Description
On April 24, 2026, I, Trooper First Class Marshall Hill of the Arkansas State Police, was patrolling US Highway 412 West near
Musteen Road west of Tontitown. At approximately 1:09PM, I was stationary facing west and observed a brown Chevy 4 door
sedan traveling at a very high rate of speed through an active work zone in the inside lane. My front radar antenna indicated
speeds of 77-78MPH in a posted 45MPH zone. I activated my emergency lights and siren and proceeded to catch up to the
vehicle which was westbound. I caught up to the vehicle at approximately 105MPH near Wildcat Creek.
The license plate on the vehicle was Arkansas 764YSA. The vehicle continued westbound on US 412 and accelerated as I
was behind it. At approximately 1:10PM, I notified Troop L communications that I was in pursuit. Speeds reached over
140MPH passing other traffic. The suspect vehicle went from left to right lane quickly, multiple times going around other
vehicles. As the suspect vehicle crossed the Illinois River near Robinson Road, the suspect vehicle attempted to go around
another vehicle. At this time the suspect vehicle appeared to over-correct in a right curve and lost control. The driver side of
the suspect vehicle struck the median cable barrier, damaging several hundred feet of cable. The suspect vehicle flipped into
the air and rolled several times before coming to rest on its top in the middle of the westbound lanes on US 412.
I approached the vehicle, but there was extremely loud music coming from inside. I was unable to hear anyone if anyone
was inside immediately. After looking through the back glass, which was shattered, there was a single female occupant in the
driver seat pinned beneath the roof. EMS responded to extract the female, who was later identified as Krista Bunch.
Bunch spontaneously uttered, while still entrapped, that she got "spooked" and was late for a personal matter.
Pafford EMS transported Bunch to Washington Regional Medical Center where she was released into my custody at
approximately 4:00PM, after being medically cleared.
I transferred Bunch to Washington County Detention staff custody at approximately 4:20PM. Trooper First Class Jackson
Little created collision report for the cable and vehicle damage. All Star Towing took possession of the suspect
vehicle.
Bunch was charged with Fleeing Vehicle Exceeding Speed Limit 5-54-125 (d)(2), Reckless Driving 27-50-308,
Speeding More Thank 15MPH Over Limit 27-51-201, Improper/Unsafe Lane Usage 27-51-302, and Criminal Mischief 1st
Degree 5-38-203(b)(3).
