Title
109 MPH Acura Chase Ends With Arkansas Trooper Crashing After High-Speed TVI
Description
This video is for educational and informational purposes only. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
What began as an Alexander Police Department pursuit quickly escalated into a dangerous high-speed chase along the I-30 Frontage Road in Saline County.
According to the official Arkansas State Police report, Corporal Steve Miller was near the Alcoa Road overpass when Alexander Police requested assistance with a fleeing gold 2002 Acura CL. Miller positioned himself along the route and waited as the pursuit approached.
Moments later, the Acura passed his location with several police units following with emergency lights and sirens activated. Miller joined the pursuit and observed the Acura traveling at high speed while swerving repeatedly between lanes.
But there was another major concern ahead.
The pursuit was rapidly approaching a work zone where ramps were closed, traffic was restricted to a single lane, and workers were present. Corporal Miller determined that he needed to intervene before the Acura reached that area.
Miller accelerated alongside the Acura and attempted to match its speed. The driver reportedly braked, disrupting the first opportunity. Miller repositioned on the driver's side and moved in again.
According to the report, contact was made with the Acura's rear corner at approximately 109 MPH.
What happened immediately afterward turned the pursuit into an even more serious situation.
Watch the full dashcam footage to see how the pursuit unfolds.
