Title
Disabled suspect runs into SHED fleeing from Arkansas State Police #pursuit #chase #crash
Description
Trooper's Report:
On Friday, June 19th, 2026, at approximately 12:51 PM, I was traveling westbound on United States Highway 70 in Biscoe
near the Post Office when I observed a white Ford F-150 (AR: BDY88E) with its emergency flashers on traveling eastbound. I
made a U-Turn in an attempt to get behind the vehicle. Once I turned around, the suspect vehicle was traveling eastbound in
the westbound lane for approximately 200 feet before turning north onto Broad St.
After the suspect vehicle turned onto Broad St, it immediately accelerated and fled at speeds much higher than the posted
speed limit of 25 miles per hour, in a residential area, showing no regard for the safety of others. The suspect vehicle drove into
the backyard of 112 Broad Street. Once entering the backyard, the suspect vehicle struck a shed in the yard, causing the
building to collapse, and immobilizing the vehicle.
The suspect driver stated that he could not get out of the vehicle and was ordered to stay inside the vehicle with his hands up.
Multiple times, the suspect was observed reaching into storage areas and moving throughout the vehicle. The suspect driver
was identified as Dewayne Jones, B/M. Hazen PD Officers Bradley Taylor and Teddy Walker arrived on scene,
and we were able to take Jones into custody without incident.
Officer Taylor located a meth pipe with residue beside the driver's door on the ground. Inside the vehicle, I located a water
bottle that had been made into a smoking device that had been recently used. While searching the crash location,
approximately 5 feet away from the front passenger side, within throwing distance, I located a grey zippered case. Inside the
grey case, I located one bag of suspected methamphetamine weighing approximately 8.3 grams, one with approximately 14.5
grams, another with approximately 7 grams, a digital scale with white residue, and a lighter with residue. All bags and evidence
located within the case were consistent with the packaging and sale of narcotics.
Officer Walker transported Jones to the Prairie County Detention Center. Jones has been previously convicted of narcotics
violations. The suspected methamphetamine was packaged as evidence and will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime
Laboratory for testing.
