Description
On September 18, 2026, an Arkansas State Police trooper observed a pickup traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 57 in Jackson County, Arkansas.
According to the report, radar showed the vehicle traveling 90 MPH in a posted 75 MPH zone. After the trooper turned around and caught up with the vehicle, the driver exited the interstate but continued through the exit ramp without stopping at a stop sign.
The driver then made multiple turns, including a complete circle around the gore area, before entering the interstate again.
The vehicle eventually pulled onto the right shoulder and stopped. However, when the trooper instructed the driver to put the vehicle in park and shut it off, the driver reportedly spun the tires and took off again.
The pursuit continued northbound on Interstate 57. The trooper attempted a Tactical Vehicle Intervention, but the driver initially applied the brakes in an apparent attempt to disrupt the maneuver. A second TVI caused the vehicle to rotate before the driver regained control and came to a stop on the shoulder.
The trooper then conducted a felony takedown and took the driver into custody without further incident.
