Title
400 Pound Suspect on Kawasaki is BUMPED off motorcycle ending Arkansas State Police PURSUIT #pit
Description
Report:
On 03/31/2026, I was traveling on Rogers Avenue near Massard Road when I observed three motorcycles turn westbound onto
Rogers Avenue. One of the riders immediately accelerated at a high rate of speed. I activated my rear radar and obtained a
speed of 60 MPH in a posted 40 MPH zone.
I activated my emergency equipment and turned around to catch up to the violator. The two accompanying riders yielded to my
emergency lights; however, the original violator continued to accelerate and began weaving in and out of traffic.
As we approached the intersection of 68th Street and Rogers Avenue, I notified Troop H Communications that I was in pursuit
of a motorcycle. The rider began traveling in the center turn lane, passing vehicles at a high rate of speed while continuing
westbound. As we crested the hill near I-540, the rider reached speeds of approximately 100 MPH and disregarded the red light
at Rogers Avenue and Bass Pro Drive.
The rider continued westbound, again utilizing the center turn lane to pass traffic, and ran the red light at Rogers Avenue and
North Waldron Road. As we passed Central Mall, the rider’s speed increased to approximately 110 MPH, and he ran another
red light.
The rider then turned off all lights on the motorcycle and turned north onto South 46th Street. At this point, I was directly behind
the motorcycle and determined that an opportunity existed to safely end the pursuit. We were traveling at approximately 5 mph.
I observed that the rider was wearing a helmet and believed he would flee again if I did not take the opportunity to end the
pursuit at that time. I pulled alongside the rider on his left side and began to limit his lane of travel. As I was limiting his lane of
travel, my vehicle and the motorcycle made contact near the front passenger side of my vehicle, causing the rider to lose
control and lay the bike down.
I exited my vehicle, drew my service weapon, and gave verbal commands for the rider to roll onto his stomach. The rider
complied, and I placed him into custody without further incident.
I identified the rider as Jacob Robertson via his driver’s license. I requested EMS due to visible injuries to
his hand consistent with road rash and requested a tow truck. John’s Towing responded and took possession of the
motorcycle.
EMS evaluated Mr. Robertson on scene; however, he refused transport. Due to Sebastian County Detention Center policy, I
transported him to Baptist Health for medical clearance prior to booking.
After being treated and cleared, Mr. Robertson was
transported to the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center.
Mr. Robertson was charged with the following offenses:
27-20-106: Motorcycle – Riding Without Operator’s License
27-52-107: Failure to Stop at Red Light
